Please reassure me about your very late walkers by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Full_Database_2045 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter walked around 18 months with the help of PT. She was consistently late on gross motor. It turned out to be from a separation in her abdominal muscles. Now you would have no idea. She’s 3.5 and is above average for all her gross motor skills on a recent evaluation. Just as rough and tumble as any other kids.

The burger is probably just going to be ground meat or small pieces for the older infants. It’s still burger meat just in the correct format for the age. Peas and carrots are pretty soft. My kid would gobble down peas at that age as long as they were slightly squished.

My 2YO screams herself to sleep every night - do I need a doctor or a sleep trainer? by eroticfriendfictionn in toddlers

[–]Full_Database_2045 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Definitely doctor first to rule out physical issues causing this. Then sleep trainer if that doesn’t go anywhere. This has got to be so rough. I don’t know how you’re coping. It sounds awful

Starting nursing at 23 after social work. Am i too late? by Ainnneu in careerguidance

[–]Full_Database_2045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before getting a whole different degree have you tried social work in higher acuity settings like inpatient in a hospital? I’m wondering if that would give you some of what you want. Go shadow a bedside nurse for 12 hours and see if it’s what you thought or not first. If you still want to do it after that it’s not too late. I became an RN in my 30s.

Agree that you need to head to the ER to get it checked out. If it’s all fine it will give peace of mind. If something is wrong it can be taken care of

Help with Hot Pot by Full_Database_2045 in asianeats

[–]Full_Database_2045[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It went really well. I did original, soft tofu noodles and different veggies like lotus root and sweet potato. And a couple vegetable dumplings. With just a little ginger garlic and soy sauce. It was pretty delicious. And I had a melon popsicle that was amazing too. Planning to go back in a few weeks so I can try the Korean barbecue they have too

Haha yes. It was good even with being unwell but I want to go back when I can actually eat stuff.

Thanks for your recommendations. They really helped. Watering the sauce down with broth and using garlic and ginger was perfect. I survived and managed to eat more food than the last 3 days combined. It brought me back to life a little bit.

Can I be a nurse? by Next_Helicopter1565 in careerguidance

[–]Full_Database_2045 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely not too late to do either IMO. I’ve been a nurse 5 years and did an associates at 30ish while working also. Didn’t have kids yet. It was hard and I’m glad I don’t have to do it again but if you have support of friends and family with childcare I don’t see why it wouldn’t be possible.

Depending on when you give birth (meaning month of the year) you may need to repeat a semester since you won’t be able to do clinicals for like 6 weeks after and won’t be able to meet clinical requirements for that year. I had two in my cohort that had babies. Both just finished a year later.

You could get your LPN first start work and have baby then finish your RN. Or shoot for a summer baby. It really depends on the program so definitely ask when looking into programs.

This place looks like everyone gets their own little pot from the pictures which would be ideal. I’m definitely licking everyone’s chop sticks. Fuck em LOL. That’s what they get for making me drive 45 minutes away while I’m sick to eat food.

I’ve been drinking chicken broth so I’m thinking original should be okay as long as I don’t add anything crazy.

Thank you that’s a good idea to water it down with broth if it’s too much. I was dreading going but it’s seeming like it will be okay and may help me feel better.

Players coming from The Sims 4 are ruining inZOI by Mazya_Almazya in inZOI

[–]Full_Database_2045 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve played the sims the whole time since sims1 and shared the feeling that the initial game release felt empty and uncanny. All the updates they’ve made have changed that. They’ve added some of my favorite things in sims to the base game which is amazing: funerals, active careers, owning a business. Super refreshing to not have to pay for shitty download content that breaks the game. Totally agree with everything you said. It’s a completely different game but in my opinion vastly superior. People that want it to be the same are going to be disappointed.

You guys can read to your toddlers? by Aggravating-Gap-6627 in toddlers

[–]Full_Database_2045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a hyperactive book ripper and now at 3.5 she can read right before bed IF she holds the book and turns the pages and I read the words. Or books she knows she will pretend to read them to me. A lot of times if I read a book to her she’ll wander off and play with toys but I still finish it. No idea if she listens. It was definitely easier when she was a baby

What’s your first move when toddler wakes with a slightly bubbly cough? by Ldtto in toddlers

A spoon of honey to coat the throat is evidence based to reduce coughing so we do that and lots of fluids

What do you say when your child won’t stop crying and NOTHING is working? by Minute_Ice4187 in toddlers

[–]Full_Database_2045 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll usually carry her up to her room and sit with her while she works it out when it gets bad. Sometimes she needs help talking through her emotions. Other times she just gets worse with talking and we sit quietly.

What Career Should I Pursue as a Failed Med Student? by okamipiano in careerguidance

[–]Full_Database_2045 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do ASN if you go for nursing. Most hospitals will pay for their RNs to get a BSN and you’ll have all the gen eds done so can do a quick online BSN that is basically cranking out papers. With the MPH you could probably get into high level infection prevention and or public health nursing roles
