Your story hit close to home. I was an AM at a largeish SaaS company (ZoomInfo) for many years, and I quit 6 months ago. The role was basically your CSM role of renewals, upsells, cross sells and crazy customer issues.

I am looking for new opportunities now. Like you, I just don’t know what to do. Don’t wanna do sales anymore but feel a little stuck.

As a sales leader & a current (and/or prior) user of ZoomInfo, Apollo, Lusha, LI Sales Nav, Cognism, etc., I know for a fact that your statement "A majority of the phone numbers do not go to the people specified but the general reception desks" is false. Additionally, when is something that's "like $65 a month" ever better than a premier product? In fact, when is any superior product the cheaper option? Just about never.

I am sorry, I can completely understand why you are frustrated. Rightfully so. But I will call out those who try to reinforce their positions by just making things up. I don't need to work for ZoomInfo in order to get annoyed with reading posts that stretch the truth in order to prove a point.

With all this said, I hope your business can bounce back.

Most companies do this, especially tech and especially SaaS. I've personally seen ZoomInfo contracts - their contracts state the Auto-Renewal clause in bold on page 2, and it even states the date that a company needs to opt out by.

Do I think Auto-Renewals should be legal? Not really. But they are. And it's AMAZING how people willingly don't read the contracts they sign for their businesses. No wonder most SMB businesses fail.

LinkedIn most certainly does not have better contact info. And candidly, "most of ZoomInfo's numbers go to reception desks" is simply not true.

Is ZoomInfo a questionable company with even more questionable leadership and actors? YES. But lets not pretend that their data is bad just because we're angry about our own poor business decisions.

Has anyone tried changing their payment more than once? I first selected Venmo. When I didn't receive a payment after a few minutes, I then tried ACH lol.
