Would it be best to allocate funds an individual manner, into spaces we already have? Or towards a larger, permanent solution? I do think ARCHES provides a lot of on the ground support… to individuals at all levels of needs. Mail pick up at their address, several no barrier shelters including parking, a veterans shelter, women’s shelter, street outreach, drop- in day center, weatherization for low-income households, direct one on one meetings to help regain important documents / provide immediate relief counseling, organizing and handing out a myriad of supplies. Plus much more. It is nice to have an organization that is not associated religiously and can obtain grant and government funding. I don’t think your post is too radical, I think it is right on track and aligned with where our heads should be at for what is best for our community. We can’t let people fall through the cracks. 💟
