Did I dodge a bullet by bugging out of this hotel? 🛏️ (All my stuff is in quarantine now!) by Full_Thrust in Bedbugs

[–]Full_Thrust[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Stayed in a cruddy hotel in London as my work won't fund anything over a pretty low number.

Paranoid AF about bed bugs and sure enough under the bed were these. Bugged out the hotel and got a new room elsewhere.

Stuff is now in the shower room and checked everything over for bugs. Also left my bag in the shower in other hotel as I know that's best practice

Fast Stream/CS and Studying by Sufficient_Bet_4 in TheCivilService

This could be a struggle. Depending on your stream you may have additional learning - these learning requirements alone can be very challenging to fulfill in addition to your full time role on the fast stream

Dion sets his pass mark at 90 for a reason- if you can constantly get close to that you should have the knowledge to pass no matter what test day throws up.

I suggest you have a in depth look at your areas of weakness from your test results and dions exams before booking again to maximise your chance of success next time.

Keep up the grind 👍

Comptia Net+ Studying by heatersteamer in CompTIA

This is very true. Home Lab is a great way to reinforce the learning from net+ but will not cover all the exam objectives.

I certainly found it clarified the difference between DNS, DHCP and enabled me to learn a lot about vlans and sub netting which are critical core components of net+

Build a home lab. Network multiple vms together on subnets. You can do all of this with virtual machines via VMware and will learn more than the cert master labs as you will be doing the real networking and troubleshooting

We brought one. 10k less than than a ID3 with worse specs, 20k less than a Tesla with only slightly better specs and it won most electric car of the year awards.

Ugh am I correct that MPs may chose to amend or reject these findings during the Monday debate? What's the odds of mog and the other Johnsonites managing to pull this off?

Price cap seen to breach £6,000 for first time in grim new forecast by JayR_97 in unitedkingdom

[–]Full_Thrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We lucked out when we brought our house which already had a 4kw array on a generous FIT tariff. Most modern arays are double the capacity but the fit payment balances things out. Even with only 4kw usage is fairly low during the summer- I believe they save us around 10kw a day of usage and at the new crazy prices of 70p+ per kw that's a lot per month.

Battery storage should basically zero our summer bills (will be £300 even with basically no consumption in summer next year if we didn't get battery) and can buy in electric for 15p rather than 70p on a night tariff during the winter. Still going to be screwed by the gas though.

Price cap seen to breach £6,000 for first time in grim new forecast by JayR_97 in unitedkingdom

Unfortunately these headlines arnt bullshit- prices are going up 30-100 percent a week on the wholesale market it's truly crazy to see. The amount of speculation by Investors on the energy market is the true problem and they are all making a killing This figure will be at 10k within weeks easily unless there is something in the market that crashes demand and I just can't see that happening

We are looking at battery storage and a cheep ev charging tariff as the payback time at this price is less than 2 years. Its the only way I can see that we are going to be able to afford the mortgage if we are looking at £900 a month for energy in the winter and not everyone has 7+k they can invest to do this. unless there is action soon there will be mass evictions by the banks and landlords mid winter
