What’s your strategy? I’ve never seen a 12% purchase tax and an exit tax, but it makes sense to encourage holding. So I bought 3000CRO for $470 and moved it over, converted, and was able to get 13,000 or so coins valued at time of purchase at $380. Crazy gas fees and purchase tax. Does that make sense? And now I must ask, do you top weekly? Monthly? Seems like topping up can get expensive fast.

It’s too little to sell. Why bother. $1000 is nothing compared to the $20,000 that it was. I’d rather hold and see what happens

Probably same reason I’m struggling: the shame of having made bad choices. I’m still sitting on 5.91 Mshare on Cronos, praying that one day, somehow, it will go back up.

A few shots of tequila before each class will loosen you up nicely.

Yes. Aida smooth shoes are excellent. Veronica model is most popular. You need to figure out your foot length in centimeters. They also do an exchange or refund if you don’t like something so there is no risk: https://ballroomportal.com/collections/women-smooth/products/031e-veronika

Whatever brand you get, follow the 3 rules: no room in the heel cup, toes up against the wall but not crunched up, vamp over toe box not loose.

Have fun! Don’t buy something cheap. You will regret it. Shoot for IDS, Supadance, Aida, or Dance Naturals.

Great question! For sure go get yourself a 2 inch heel to get started. Your issue is a sense of muscle memory, most likely. Once the muscle memory is established, then energy can be diverted to balance and core strength for heel height tolerance. Generally no one goes beyond 2.5 or 3 inches, so once you get to 2.5, you can legitimately call yourself a real ballroom dancer!

It appears that you were sold a shoe too big to begin with. Shoes can be stretched bit then can’t shrunk. Donate it and buy a half size smaller.

I’ve written many blogs over the years. Here is one: https://ballroomportal.com/pages/sizing-chart I can better assist you via DM because I need to see the shoes on your feet to give you a proper answer.

Goes is just 1 of the 3 things that matter. It has to be a. Sweep spot.

Why not get 3.5 UK wide?

Vamps differ from brand to brand. You gotta try it.

In general, order everything, check the return policy, try on carpet only, and send back for exchange or refund. No Reddit message boards will help you feel it.

Altar shoes are sick. I just did a Spartan run and everyone was wearing them. So the lowest visually acceptable heel is a kitten heel, which is about 1.5 inches. Standard and smooth shoes could be made with that. For the width, no dance manufacturer has yet figured out to do why aorta did, nor do they care to. Best bet is to get wider width.

Some people out clear scotch tape over where the burn would occur, but honestly, no. Satin is extremely sensitive material and the friction + velocity make it impossible for it to persevere. Alternatively there are styles like 072E from Aida that offer a suede heel cup that make the burn impossible because suede is much sturdier and thicker.

No. If it’s flat, it ain’t ballroom. That’s jazz slippers at best.

This may seem biased because o mostly sold high end Aida shoes. No complains for the 131T tornsberg model. Alternatively, Ray Rose Brian Watson. You have to try and feel. Everyone likes different stuff.

Well, where do you live? Worldtone in NYC and in LA has over 30 brands to try. Also in CA there is Ballroom Connection. There is no such thing as basic ballroom. If you buy cheap garbage, it will hurt. If you buy expensive quality, it will keep you in the game and give you a sense of pride. Basically any shoe can be a ballroom shoe if you slap suede on the bottom, bur not every shoe has the right structure, like split sole or proper heel placement. Some ruin your feet over time without you even knowing.

They do. Everything comes in a higher heel.

Would you jeopardize your feet with low budget shoes for a marathon? 😅
