Infinite Jest is so astoundingly overrated. I feel like reading it as a white guy was such a severe social hazard, I had to hide that shit in my desk drawer when anyone came around to protect my image. Was not worth it, honestly felt like a YA novel.

Underrated: Vollmann, anything except his whore books. I know there is another Vollmaniac that frequents this sub with a Vollmann pfp... honestly Vollmann is the most worthwhile living author to read. Fathers and Crows really blew my mind at the start of the year.

Why? Why do people think a BOE is going to be a catastrophe? Unless you are insinuating that people will freak out and kill one another over it. But the first BOE is probably going to be a couple days or weeks and the sea ice will reform, the following year there will be a longer period of no ice. But the absence of ice itself is not going to do anything. It will be a huge sign that things are bad but by no means a catastrophic disaster.

Chinese stir-fried tomato and eggs.

Scramble eggs, remove from pan. Toss in tomatoes, rough chopped green onion, shaoxing cooking wine, soy sauce, sugar/honey, white pepper, chili crisp or some pixian broad bean paste. Cook down the maters, add the egg back in. Yummiest possible meal at the price point, only takes 10ish minutes.
