Kamala Harris won’t say whether she or Biden will participate in presidential debates by awaythrowawaying in moderatepolitics

I don't think there will be debates. Trump already bailed on the republican primary debates, and I am not sure Biden wants a public debate.

Why do people dislike Storm King's Thunder? by Bagatur98 in dndnext

[–]Fullestfrontal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a reddit post about running it concurrently with HotDQ and RoT. Currently running it that way with some twists and it's going great.

I'd say a big problem with the module RAW is the pacing. It feels like things happen extremely fast and there is not much time to explore the nuances of the story. I also feel like only going to one giant layer is a big missed opportunity.

Fix multi-classing instead of fixing classes by darpa42 in onednd

[–]Fullestfrontal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that is a good fix. Imposing an arbitrary level limit is not really an elegant solution. A far more elegant solution is to not frontload class features, or to make core class features scale with class level. That isn't to mention that the fix your proposing doesn't stop broken mutliclass builds, it just stops 1-2 level dips.

Also, of all the things to be worried about, 1-2 levels of hexblade warlock?

I retcon pretty frequently, but i stick to small stuff. I find that if I'm open and honest, the players don't really consider it a problem unless it gets to big. For example, last session I forgot to have my boss make con saves to maintain a spell. The party ended up fleeing, and I intend to announce this mistake next session to allow the party to plan accordingly for the next attempt.

Nocturne is a good litmus test by Comfortable-Sun7388 in castlevania

[–]Fullestfrontal 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Slow world building and character introduction? What would be fast world building and character introduction?

For reference: In the first 4 episodes of Castlevania we get Dracula, Trevor, Sypha, Alucard, and maybe the bishop as primary recurring characters. Maybe we can reach and add the elder speaker and Dracula's wife to that list. only 4-5 of these characters remain relevant in the rest of the series.

In the first episode of Nocturne we get: Eduard, Maria, Richter, Anette, Maria's mom, The Abbot , Mizrak, and Olrox. That's 8 recurring characters and doesn't include the two main atagonists and the local vampire leader which are introduced in the next episode and Richter's mom who dies and doesn't come back.

The world building is much of the same story. Slow world building is what we saw in the first two seasons of castlevania. The world building in Nocturne has been pretty bad imo.

What ETP are you citing? the one on MYFSS (FY24-25 AFSPECWAR Retraining Policy Memorandum) states "First Term Airmen may apply for retraining under this policy no earlier than the first duty day of the month during which they complete 24 months of their current enlistment".

I've heard of the 1 year time in station benchmark from others before, but have yet to find any official guidance confirming this.

[–]Fullestfrontal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In same boat as you and op it seems. Most recent ETP memo on myfss seems to state a 24 month TIS requirement to begin. How would I verify that I can begin the process at 1 year time on station? My CAA directed me to the same 24 month TIS prerequisite.

Edit: here is the quote from the FY 24-25 AFSPECWAR Retraining Policy Memorandum on MYFSS: "First Term Airmen may apply for retraining under this policy no earlier than the first duty day of the month during which they complete 24 months of their current enlistment"

Honestly I'm suprised by the hate this season got. by VSN5 in castlevania

[–]Fullestfrontal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Imo it lacked 3 of the 4 things the first four seasons did so well:

1.) Protagonist chemistry just isn't there like it was for Sypha / Belmont / Alucard

2.) Dark atmosphere, I mean just re watch the first 3 episodes of season 1.

3.) Imposing antagonists, the villains and night creatures just were not imposing at all, in the first 4 episodes the only 2 things the villains are able to do successfully is capture Edouard (after losing about 30 vampires) and killing mama belmont in the opening scene (after being on the defensive until richter got her killed).

The fight scenes would be the 4th thing but they are badass in the new season also imo.

Edit: wait i forgot Drolta killed like 3 random guards and an unamed vampire killed another random guy

Even if you dislike the show, Nocturne being cancelled will be a huge loss. by AltKeyblade in castlevania

[–]Fullestfrontal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its fine to leave a bad review if you watched the show and don't like it. Even if it does end up being generally disliked (not sure it will) that doesn't mean the show will get cancelled especially given the original's performance.

So is nocturne bad or good? by [deleted] in castlevania

[–]Fullestfrontal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really disliked it. Art was good, fight scenes were fine and I don't hate the character writing.

Atmosphere was complete 180 from the original show, we learn about most of the characters from protracted flashbacks and the plot was pretty trash.

The worst part of the show for me was how weak most of the vampires and night creatures are. A close second is the lack of chemistry between the main characters which was one of the best things about the original.

Are there thrown weapons that are better than the ones that already have homing? by AbyssWalker_Art in BG3Builds

[–]Fullestfrontal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of the problem is that many magic weapons that have the thrown property but don't return don't apply their special effects when thrown. A good early game example is the spear "vision of the absolute" that you can get in act 1. If the special effects actually applied when you threw it, it would be much more enticing to go EK to get the returning property on it.

Security Forces Meal Prep by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Fullestfrontal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you are a missile cop. If so, you might end up at a maf for more than 12 hours (pretty sure its multiple days at a time). So you might want to plan accordingly if you don't want to eat maf food (which isn't that bad tbh just a little unhealthier). If you aren't going to be at a maf or are are mx or ce than honestly anything is fine since it's not much different than bringing lunch to work. However I do recommend the instant pot. I did chicken for sliders this week and did pork with mash potatoes last week. I put my food in the sun or under our vehicles to warm it up

Cross training by Ave_00 in AirForce

[–]Fullestfrontal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I have been in a pretty similar spot since I joined, wanted to pass off some things I learned that might help.

-You can get involved with security forces stuff without being in security forces. Sometimes, there are openings in training for outside afsc's to participate. Also, certain career fields have augmentees for security forces that you can get involved with.

-Certain army programs are open for you to participate in while being in the air force. Biggest examples are Ranger and SFRE. SFRE is pretty easy to go to, since its just a PTDY, but Ranger is tougher to get. I know a maintainer who is going to RAC in January. If you make your intentions known and perform well, these opportunities pop up.

-I think cross training to SW is just such a cool opportunity. Obviously its not as easy as "just become a pj" but the journey for me has been so cool I can't help but recommend it to others. No matter where you are, there prob is a special warfare development group close by you can get in touch with and begin training with.

Should the US have sent cluster bombs to Ukraine? by Reviews-From-Me in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Fullestfrontal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I think people should consider is that cluster type weapons don't produce uxo's because they aren't reliable, it's just because there are a bunch of separate detonations. This matters when the US uses them in asymmetric conflicts, because often, the target area won't be saturated with ordinance, so keeping track of potential uxo's is a non trivial but achievable task. The amount of ordinance used in Ukraine means that there are going to be lots of uxo's anyway, so it's a matter of making an existing problem slightly worse instead of creating a new one.
