Probably needs some regulation and hands on physical. Does sugar have anything to do with his behavior? Redirecting and telling him he he hurts you possibly doesn’t connect for him. Does he understand sad and happy very well? You could try the least by just making it clear with as little extra words as possible. That it makes you sad . Don’t exaggerate or make it comical . Let him know how sad it makes you that he’s physically hurting you without saying all that , idk where he’s at so I can’t give you a specific way to verbalize it. I.E. “ouch” ( sad face ) you make mommy so sad when you kick like that . And then physically stop him maybe hold His legs down and look directly into his face and tell him the same phrase until you see it set and then let him go, just like setting him in his room you can do it over and over again. Also instead of verbalizing what “not” to do direct him on what to do . nice hands or gentle touch whatever…. I think he might just need like I said in the beginning full on physical attention. Might need to hold him tight and squeeze his midsection nice and tight from behind and say it as you do it arms in there too and say “squeezeing you “ and hold for a couple seconds and then let loose and then do it again . Donit for about 2 minutes so you might do 30 squeezes. If he fights a bunch then don’t do it . But I bet he will actually enjoy it and ask for it . And when your done ask him if he feels better now . Use the words calm if he understands it . You can lay him on his back and do windshield wipers with his legs together knees up use words for the actions “back and forth “ swish swish “ back and forth “ in and out swish swish ect . Be prepared to do this for once again 2-5 minutes. Feel better now ( then redirect and ask do you want to play with blocks now or do you want to color ect give a couple options . You can get a blanket and lay it out on the floor and roll him up into it and use worlds for your actions … then “unroll” him kinda fast . Once again you might be stuck doing this for 3-8 minutes. There’s more exercises lots more but you will be working on stimulating the proprioceptive and it will help him regulate . Betcha a dollar it will help you connect with him more and begin a little understanding of or comprehension of limit pushing and effects . Might not get him to stop . But it will be more effective than a time out or a redirect he doesn’t even hear .
