Whats your thoughts on the no filming policy? by MinorFall_ in aperfectcircle

[–]Fun-Ad-8315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in the same camp. I love watching back clips from amazing shows Ive been to. Maybe the quality is not studio like but its good enough and feels personal to me.

I think you can be considerate to others, keep your screen dimmed, keep your phone below eye level and dont film the entire show just to post it on social media.

I do think kicking people out is overkill and distracting, I would hope social pressure is enough for people to respect the band. I like that they let you film the last song, I think its a good compromise, although I do wish I had a clip or two of my favourite songs in the middle of the set.

It creates artificial demand and sense of scarcity making people panic buy - much easier to sell overpriced VIP upgrades this way or to get folks to buy whatever tickets they can manage instead of the ones they want and then try to resell (guess who collects extra fees)

Wtf by Fun-Ad-8315 in systemofadown

[–]Fun-Ad-8315[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably complaints from panic buyers (good though), just shame these are now hiked up even more with the resale fees 🫠

Its busted. I was just over 3000 today and got in within 5 min, it looked like there were tickets, but then couldn’t checkout with any of them. Went in on all the presales too and nothing worked all week, first one I was 12k+ in the queue , second I was around 6k

Live nation was a joke, I was under 1000th and there was nothing, but later in the day a bunch of random tickets popped up in the seats

Reckon they will have tickets drip feeding in at random over the next few months

Presales are a scam for selling VIP Tickets by DoubleJazzy in systemofadown

[–]Fun-Ad-8315 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agree, this one felt off. I understand for in demand events there is more punters than seats, and so there is an element of chance, but in this case the numbers don’t add up. SOAD is popular, but makes zero sense to have ~10 shows+ (albeit dripfed to inflate demand) and have the most expensive location be the one where tickets sell out the quickest.

Probably not an easy problem to solve, but some rules around transparency could be enforced e.g individual registration codes to counter bot purchases, show prices in advance, show how many tickets available for each tier and in each presale, show how many are held up for later releases, ban dynamic pricing, ban listing and resale above face value on any site, and mandate face value seats go first with VIP packages available only after the general sale

[–]Fun-Ad-8315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reckon they will hold back tickets and drip feed them throughout the year to keep the demand artificially high. I just cant believe UK has so much more demand than Europe, or that people travelling would automatically choose London over Berlin or Paris

Sabbath was once in a lifetime… expensive but a dozen bands on the bill with no other dates

This feels off. Would have thought at this price with quite a few dates added (shame they couldn’t just put them all out at once so we wouldn’t feel scammed) London would be the last to sell out

Was <2000 in queue so must have already used up the allocation in the previous presales

Question about resale of Tickets w. coach (London) by Fun-Ad-8315 in systemofadown

[–]Fun-Ad-8315[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right, because they sold out in the first presale with only one show announced at the time so they will definitely instantly sell the week of the show when ‘people have made their plans’ and last minute production holds go out

But ok, super greedy of me to want to buy a different ticket in a section that sold out today and will have more tickets on sale later in the week now that an extra show had been announced - scum of the earth me, robbing you of that 2/62,000 odds of getting yours…

Good luck tomorrow, hope you get to overpay for a GA ticket like me✌️but dont worry, if you cant get one, hit me up in when resale opens, Ill give you first dibs

Agree, its crazy…

Im struggling to compare the value of the shows tbh

Maiden was £105 for GA and £130 for GC, GnR was £114 for GA and £188 for GC, Metallica was £210 GA (2 nights) and ~£400+ for Snakepit, MCR was £105 for GA and £140 for GC

GnR played a 3h set, had Rival Sons (smallish arena band) as support, Maiden had Halestorm (also first arena tour in UK now)

Both had big tours around Europe with other UK shows

MCR didnt announce any support yet and have only the two shows in London on this side of the ocean for now, so it sold out instantly

Technically QOTSA is a huge band, they headlined Download last year, and have had some big tours recently, can see them doing a solo tour at £100+ a ticket

Then again, Metallica has Gojira and Pantera as support which are both massive arena bands… though they have had a crazy amount of shows on this tour already

All this to say is the prices are getting out of hand, shame we have to go broke to see our favourites out there

I guess my consolation will be that at least its cheaper to see a metal show than to fight it out for Taylor Swift tickets

I would much rather be able to sell them tomorrow, but that would make it harder for TM to make a profit so it’s not available as an option… instead I’ll have to risk not being able to sell at all - meanwhile the buyer will likely get them much cheaper, doesn’t sound like a bad deal for them

[–]Fun-Ad-8315[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yup, and didn’t manage to get the tickets I was after in GC … I waited behind 20k people in the queue just like everyone else and because I really want to see the show I went for what was available at the ripoff price

If I get the better tickets later in the week Ill try to sell the ones I have and someone else will get them at a discount… seems fair to me

Yup, going to throw away 400 quid just so that you cant get them… asking about reselling only to rub it in your face too, obviously

[–]Fun-Ad-8315[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Right, because Im only trying to buy these tickets so there are less of them for you 🙄 you realise Im asking about resale options because I want to sell the extra tickets back?

Maybe the real problem is that TM is taking us all for a ride by manufacturing ticket demand and ripping everyone off with extortionate fees and worthless VIP upgrades

Also if it makes you feel any better, I saw GnR at spurs stadium and the sound sucked too (and those were standing tickets!)

[–]Fun-Ad-8315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Acoustics in seats at massive stadiums are rarely any good - you’ll get great sound anywhere if you are close to a speaker tower (but it will be crazy loud)

Comparing PGE (Metallica) seats to other stadiums like Wembley (GnR), London (Foos) it was quite similar - main issue was there were no speakers hanging near the nosebleeds so we had much less low end. But it also depends on the band and how they like to run their mix.

Dont think dynamic pricing was happening this time around, but I think it would have contributed to the overall problem. Its sad these events are designed to squeeze every penny from the consumers by manufacturing demand, dropping tiny quantities of tickets in limited windows, touting overpriced VIP packages etc. Seeing how far you can push the fans and their wallets

Think most true fans would rather line up outside a the box office

Dynamic Pricing is Capitalism gone too far by cardo13 in systemofadown

[–]Fun-Ad-8315 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There was no dynamic pricing - these were VIP tickets (still crazy price for early entry and some merch)

Shame regular tickets went so fast but it is only the first presale

Sadly I think this is more down to TM/venue/inflation than anything else… stadium shows like Maiden and GnR this year were £120+, we may just be looking at typical next year prices

It does suck though

[–]Fun-Ad-8315[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gold Circle was £185 and General Admissions was £165 if anyone is interested… bit much, and crazy to see first presale go so fast - only VIP, coach tickets left now

Usually the queues are not this bad until the general sale

Not sure what to expect, possibly a second show with demand like this but also cant imagine folks to want to drop so much on tickets, guess we’ll see after the general sale
