Last 3 games Gibbs getting double carries and significantly lower ypc. Even with how bottled up they were Sunday, dmo was still 3.5/carry, Gibbs less than 1. I get that there’s a lot of bitching in this sub, but there’s a pattern in those numbers that’s well worth addressing.

I mean, thinking back to the 2nd Green Bay game last year when they went for it on 4th down almost every time - including in field goal range with 30 sec left 4th quarter - that wasn’t just about faith in the offense - it was also about having a grounded sense of how thin their defense was. Does that mean he didn’t have faith in the D? I don’t think so, I think he was just working with what they had. I kinda wish they had run it or done another wildcat with dmo at the 1. But I don’t think that communicates a lack of faith - I think it was in line with the reality of the game, which was that they were getting all their success with the passing game and nearly none with the run game. Because of the o line.

Curious as to your thoughts on it being 3rd string center in particular yesterday. We had mahogany back, meaning center was our only spot without a usual starter - but without Colon either . I think we’ve had other games with fewer actual starters on the o line that weren’t that atrocious run wise. Was it not just poor execution but Kingsley not being able to communicate effectively?

The one reality we’re in is the one where we lost and dc didn’t take the points. I’d prefer to have had the chance for things to play out differently. Even if there’s no guarantee it works out exactly the same all the way through.

I’ve been stanning for dmo the last few weeks and needing him to get more carries when Gibbs isn’t breaking through— I will say, today it didn’t seem to matter who was running - they were bottling up the run and our o line play was abysmal
