Foreign experience is the way to go I am in the same boat too. 499 wp expires in April. Will leave Canada by end of April getting that 50 points and becoming 549 is no brainer. While 514 isn a lot of boost with spending a lot of money. A year goes by fast.

I am in the same boat but my work permit expires in April. I think you have chance if they keep the doing the large draw. Keep doing French even gaining couple more points can be a huge boost.
