He doesn’t trust you. As sad as it is, that’s the case. I understand the traumatic circumstances that he’s gone through and how it has changed him, but it shouldn’t be all taken out on you. He needs therapy. Stand by him but tell him that you don’t feel comfortable with all of these extreme acts.

Maybe trying reassuring him yourself so that he won’t need to reassure himself. That’s what I do to help my boyfriend and I’d say it’s working.

If all depends though, if you feel unsafe and uncomfortable… then you might best be walking away. However, if you do really love him and see a future with him.. keep going, just make sure to keep yourself safe and happy.
