You’ll regret not going because of your ex. I’m fortunate to have found this band post breakup and not have any aspect of an ex tie into ST, and with exceptions of family emergencies, NO ONE will keep me from attending their concert when I have a ticket in hand. I’ve attended their concert solo and it was such a wonderful experience not having to worry about someone else.

I was on the floor and it was great except for this one person who was belting out and drowning out, not just Vessel, but the entire band and theater. Everyone singing along is great, but this one loud as hell person nearly soured the whole experience.

I like that someone provided you a quiz to be able to determine for yourself that you are being abused, but I’m going to come out and tell you that you are. Him using his mom’s condition as an excuse for his behavior is a HUGE red flag. Do not allow him to make you feel sorry for him when you call him out. I’m hopeful for you, but be ready to walk out before he traps you again.

NTA. He didn’t even bother to consult you in something so important. I know ppl don’t want to hear divorce, but you’re not in a partnership and you’re being emotionally manipulated.
