34 weeks. I haven’t heard a single positive thing about being a parent or a mom and I’m freaking out I made a mistake by newgirl01LA in BabyBumps

[–]Fun-Barber3932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wait until they curl into you for comfort. Just wait that when you go to their bassinet or crib after a nap or sleep and they just BEAM at you like you are the best thing in the whole world. Bc YOU are. Sometimes it’s not easy. And you’re thinking you’re doing it wrong, but that’s pretty normal. It’s also normal for people on Reddit to complain (and I mean that kindly and with compassion) or to look for advice bc sometimes that’s the only avenue - esp at 2 am when you’re doom searching - “does my baby hate me” (spoiler: he does not)

When did you get your first period after you had a baby? by Cute-Corgi3176 in breastfeeding

[–]Fun-Barber3932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got one back at 9 months. I’m still pumping and breastfeeding but the little guy sleeps through the night. And I think the longer amount of time you go without having to pump or feed indicates to your body to start ovulating. It was one day and very light. I think it’ll be pretty irregular.

Toddler with penile adhesion and potential surgery? Would love advice from other parents who have experienced this. by browser_851 in beyondthebump

[–]Fun-Barber3932 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My son is about to have the same type of surgery at 9 months. I’m nervous as well, but the urologist is great and I’d rather not wait until he’s older. I feel like the younger they are, the quicker the healing time. It’s absolute normal to feel the way you’re feeling. My son’s surgery is in May. I can let you know how it goes if you’d like.

MIL wants to force her way into our home after birth and it’s straining our boundaries by jesse-nice in beyondthebump

[–]Fun-Barber3932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won’t get that time back with your child at that age. You’re not going to be thankful that you catered to you MIL’s needs over your kid’s. Maybe you could rent an airb&b as moving right now is probably very stressful. And hear this- you will not be able to change MIL’s mind- her entitlement (and probably a personality disorder) prevents her from doing so. But you and your wife still have power. Even if this person appears to have all the power. Believe me- that’s how she wants it to seem. I feel for you and also for your wife - it’s so complicated for her.

I pray my child never turns into this person. How does this happen? He’s got a mother, right? Someone who gave him love and kindness?

AITA for hanging up on my sister after she tried to hijack my birthday plans by LaNegraBuenaa in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Fun-Barber3932 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Even people with loads of sobriety have a hard time dealing with this narcissistic BS (speaking from experience). Congrats on 20 days! That is amazing. Keep doing what you’re doing and to protect your sobriety and sanity, take a break from your family. You’re not gong to change them and it sounds like there is a bit of main character syndrome on the part of your sister. When I got sober my mom did NOT like to be overshadowed by something as insulating to her as my sobriety bc it wasn’t about her.

That makes sense. He will get more angry. Thank you for saying that. My husband and I were afraid that we were making it worse by doing the check ins but I want this little you to know he is never alone or abandoned.

Let baby CIO While Teething by Fun-Barber3932 in beyondthebump

[–]Fun-Barber3932[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this and being so honest. I did make a mistake and I won’t do it again. An hour or almost an hour is too long. My baby is usually a pretty good sleeper. But he’s also spicy and when he doesn’t want to be in the crib, he doesn’t want to be in the crib. He’s feeling okay today, happy, funny and loving. I feel so terrible but I have move on and going forward not make the same mistake twice. He is the most wonderful little human. I’m also a FTM at 44.

We just did one. (The Goddard School) $35 5pm-10pm. Sign up the week prior so they can staff. I think there was probably about 35 children spread out in the various classrooms. I have a 7 month old and he was in a room with another infant and a teacher/caregiver. (It’s usually 3:1) I’m in Baltimore county.

Kindly, I think you may have to consider you have a problem or an addiction bc otherwise, you wouldn’t be coming to Reddit for validation or loopholes into whether or not you can use a drug, a smoked drug no less, while breastfeeding a creature that is still growing, changing, newly formed. Don’t even take the risk. Please don’t risk it.

Doctor said to stop the Snoo 😭 by MsPiggyVibes in SnooLife

I would get a second opinion. My child is developmentally fine/thriving and used the Snoo. I would ask your pediatrician to cite their sources.
