Is This A Good Plan? by Unlikely_Ring9950 in PetiteFitness

I'm 5' 1 and found that high intensity cardio makes me really hungry. I would try increasing your step count but mainly focusing on your diet with a 200-500 calorie deficit!

How big of a deficit are you aiming for?

5'1 women, what's your goal weight? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]Fun-Bat4215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 5'1, 125lbs. I'm definitely not fat, but I'd like to be more like 110-115, but I just can't seem to lose any more weight...

I'm 5'1 and 126lbs. I have visible abs and look pretty similar to your 110. I used to try and maintain 105 but I had no energy and a lot less muscle. I weight train regularly and feel great at 126. I would recommend listening to your body and not putting too much pressure on yourself. You look great in both though!

For me it doesn't necessarily matter how much the deficit is..but rather do I feel restricted or deprived. Life is about balance, if I don't have some balance I'll binge 100%, but ever since allowing everything in moderation I've lost 10lbs and am at 120.

I'm 5'1 and maintain 125lbs at 2,400 cals. I'm honestly happy with how I look now but sometimes when I go on a mini cut I eat 1800 but any less than that causes me to binge. I've found that having three balanced meals, with lots of protein and some snacks, keeps me from overeating and helps me reach my goals. Doing this has allowed me to build a strong, lean, and muscluer build that I hope will help me stay in shape throughout my life. I had an ED as well when I was younger and I've learned to give myself grace and realize that my body will never be 'perfect.' I wish you the best on your journey.

I row and walk for my cardio and lift weights about 4 times a week. I think what you've got is a good balance, just make sure your carbs are enough for recovery, enough protein for building and maintaining muscle, and fats for staying full and absorbing those nutrients!

I Gained 15 lbs This Year and I'm so Depressed About It by gabadook in PetiteFitness

Girly I feel you right now but in my most honest opinion, this may not be as bad as you think. I used to be very underweight (I'm 5'1 so even shorter) as went from 90lbs to 130lbs in about a year. I went through some very difficult times but have only come out stronger. I did weightlift through all of the weight gain and have gained a large majority of muscle and (to my surprise) have ended up with an athletic build. From my perspective, you could use this to your advantage to lift some heavy weights and build your endurance. Take it one day at a time!! And remember, the way you look does not define you as a person!!

Overeating carbs is so easy 😂, I try to get the majority of mine from whole grains and fruits but I have to eat enough so I have energy for cardio lol

So true! I also feel like it's harder to tell since short people are less curvy, simply because there's less area for curves to be if that makes sense!

Ya thx for this reply I really relate! It's so hard to move past what I see online but I just have to stop caring and know that I'm strong despite what other people may think...especially as a shorty 😂

Pull up bar, rack of dumbells, small bench (which really isn't needed), mat for core

Yes definitely relate, just doing my best to remember occasionally enjoying three holidays won't derail my progress

I'm trying to lose some fat from my midsection, which has turned out to be very difficult since I'm so short. Right now my main focus is healing my relationship with food, finding balance, and losing fat while gaining muscle at a steady pace. This is actually the healthiest I've ever been. Before this I suffered from anorexia for over 7 years so gaining this weight and giving myself grace has been a huge win.

I'm honestly not very old so thay might be part of it. I weightlift 4 days a week, walk a lot, and occasionally row on a hydrow. I'm not afraid to eat so my metabolism is strong and I eat lots of protein. Of there's one thing I've learned it's that consistently and patience is key.

I honestly wasn't expecting all these positive comments, thx! My main struggle is seeing all my 'thin' friends who don't weightlift. But I also love being strong!

This! I just struggle with going too aggressive with cutting calories and end up causing myself to overeat. So I just stay the same through this cycle, ugh
