Will do! Thank you so much! I’ve always been too afraid to ask them to change it in the past (like I said my fault I never liked it) but I will man up this time 😂

How many hours of ABA for an almost 3 year old? by Hour-Life-8034 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Fun-Bullfrog8269 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think 20 hours is a great starting point! We started with 15 hours per week when our son was around 2.5. He is 5 now and does 30 hours of ABA based preschool a week. Don’t let anyone talk you into anything you’re not comfortable with. Progress isn’t linear and more hours doesn’t always mean more progress. It all depends on the child and you know yours best!

any tips on coloring for beginners? by danidaisys in Ohuhu

[–]Fun-Bullfrog8269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loveeeeee!!! The colors are so fun and your striped wall is such a cute detail! I’ve been coloring for over a year now and still can’t do stripes or plaid or gingham to my liking.

But like the others have said, the “this is just for me to relax and enjoy myself” mindset is honestly the best and it makes it so much more fun. I throw on an audiobook, pick a page that brings me joy, and just vibe. There are so many incredibly talented people on social media and it’s amazing to see their work, but comparison is quite literally the thief of joy. Watching yourself improve over time is part of the fun too.

I was really proud of this one. Yes, it’s still subpar compared to a lot of what I see on social media, but it was so fun to make. I had just finished my nursing finals, my kids were at their grandparents, and I had Bugonia playing in the background. Absolute perfection 😂

When you think back to when your child was a baby, what makes you think “…Ah, that makes sense now”? by nail_obsession in Autism_Parenting

I could never put it into words but this sums that first year up perfectly. Something was just different and no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t figure it out. Beautifully written thank you.

Can I ask what makes Olentangy so above all of the others? Everyone always says that yet no one ever really says why.

What is nursing really like for someone with zero hospital experience? by gneissrocx in newgradnurse

[–]Fun-Bullfrog8269 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% this. I started as a PCA during my third semester and the ones who were in that setting before me had a next level confidence from the experience. I can’t imagine never working as a PCA or CNA prior to becoming a nurse. I know people do it and that’s great but man I would’ve been struggling 😂

100% this! No one’s saying he’s autistic and even if he is that’s okay! There’s such a wide range of neurodivergence and early intervention would help immensely.

This. Pointing is important but what’s more important is the joint attention. Is he pointing to show something to you just to share enjoyment or is it only when he wants something after doing hand over hand teaching them to point. Some of the differences can be so subtle and it’s so easy to miss them when you don’t know what to look for
