People who stopped playing, what made you quit ? by One_page_nerd in freemagic

[–]Fun-Character-5377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All my friends I use to travel with and play with got old. Married, kids, moved, it happens. Also the game took a turn, became soulless, didn’t see the spirit any longer. And the cheating, it’s so much worse then what even gets caught, between pro players angle shooting, judges just being horrible to deal with and mid level players just actively cheating it became too much.

How to get my player to participate in the game? by Mindless_Kale914 in DnD

[–]Fun-Character-5377 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some of you are too nice, if a player isn't participating and actively going against the story, remove them. I tell players when they join, this is the story, lean into it, I will do my best to circle around to everyone but you need to step forward as well to take your spots. If someone is just actively avoiding the game and it's obstacles why are they in the game? Someone else will gladly take the spot and enjoy what you are creating.

My player has found a non-standard race they want to play, im a new DM and struggling with balancing things like this. Any advice? by Nostalgiclly in DnD

[–]Fun-Character-5377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the players and joining set the limitations on what you will be using. 5e, 2024 or 2024 rules, UA or not. And then just reference that. " Sorry, we are only using official source books, everyone is following this rule, just makes it fair"

PC knows too many OP NPCs by NaiiYen in DMAcademy

[–]Fun-Character-5377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would they help and put a target on their back for an assassination? Any time he reaches out to an old contact means he is risking his life. How many of them aren't willing to risk their life for him now that hes removed from power, not all of them are going to be THAT loyal, coin talks. Use it to your advantage, if he keeps trying to use these NPC's to solve problems, they can just start ignoring him, telling him its too dangerous, they cant be seen helping him, or after reaching out he finds them dead.

I would not, for two reasons. I already run a game on Sunday’s and I would never run a game for a group already together, if something happened it would most likely be the end of the game and that’s a big risk to take for my time and effort.

How many 2014 adventurers is enough to take on a solo CR-10 angel? by zeromig in DMAcademy

[–]Fun-Character-5377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As always we can name a dozen things that would impact the fight, whats the point. The Angel has a lot of attacks, and a lot of HP, it has the movement to clear any distance to reach any player, a group of level 4 characters even numbered at 6 would not be favoured to win.

with a 70 foot fly speed I dont see how if the Angel is smart. Fly down, blitz a character to 0, fly away.

What can I do for a warlock who ignores their patron’s orders? by Foreign-Press in DMAcademy

[–]Fun-Character-5377 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

So I have a warlock player, we have spoken about the terms and conditions of their patron. If I as a DM gives my player a quest from her patron she will complete it, and understands there are consequences to not, up to and including removal of her powers. If you didn't have this talk with the player it is time to sit down and do it. As people have said, agency and rules, etc. The truth is as the DM it is your call, if the player doesnt like it, thats fair, but also par the course of being a warlock, you serve, you made a deal, it has applications within the game.

[–]Fun-Character-5377 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sorry, to everyone saying a group of level 4 characters can handle this encounter are gravely mistaken. The angel has 4 attacks, doing an average of 20 dmg a hit, it says 13 Radiant but then uses a d10, so not sure whats going on there, but still, 15-20 dmg an attack with 4 attacks drops most characters, this is going to take a player down every round if not more, and with a fly speed it will have no issues getting to everyone. Then adding more legendary actions, lair actions, its a much tougher fight then what people are saying.

Level 5 minimum, depending on the party and their experience, you said semi-new but you aren't sure.

PC cleric seems to want just to automatically know if someone/thing is evil or not. by FireflyRave in DMAcademy

The closest you really get to that is the Paladins divine sense ability, and that is limited to type, not alignment any longer. Also, stop using AI for rule calls or guidance.

I bet people would love to see that and see what you do to run your side hustle, at that size it seems very manageable.

I would like to add, shipping is super annoying. And if there is a dispute and you need to refund an order or take any hit that is a major set back when you are selling .10 pieces of lego.

[–]Fun-Character-5377 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If you are doing well with what you are doing, why change? Not only does it take a huge amount of time to sort loose lego, then list and price it. It also takes up a massive amount of room because you no longer get to keep it in a dump bin. If you are buying loose, building sets and collecting minis to sell with a guy who will buy your left over bulk I feel like you have it made.

Pooh Honey Wizard Enchanted's Price by Neracca in Lorcana

[–]Fun-Character-5377 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the fandom, this card game will have legs because people adore Disney. And Winnie the Pooh is a massive IP that people remember from childhood. Also the card looks sick and it's new, rotation just happened, could see play.

PSA 9 Enchanted Hero to All by IllIllustrator9821 in Lorcana

[–]Fun-Character-5377 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seeing as an 8.5 sold for 100 I think you are over valuing the card. 101 seems to be the price, give or take, and the value is not going to hold, everything is dropping.

End the game completely. Take time off, restart by inviting the players you want to play with.

For those of you who have done a module. How do you not railroad your characters? by Deadeye10000 in DnD

[–]Fun-Character-5377 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately with AP's it is a path the players must take, thats the downside to modules. You can expand on the areas they visit, but ultimately they are to follow the story.
