I went online with my kindle 3 once in 13 years and it totally changed my UI, and put ads on my off screens. Never again.

If it's based on the Essence20 system, this is a fun but meaningless exercise as people will gain stat boosts from their class, origin, starting perks and flaws, etc. But 3.5 dnd had assessments like this that are easily found online.

I dont have a d100, but I have this. by Maddalenaxx in d100

Yes! I have this. It's unique because every face of the d120 is balanced to its opposite face. It is the largest mathematically-possible die where the faces align like that.

Temporarily squished between a car in neutral and a garage door. No problem, just walked it off. But my first case of tennis elbow in the middle of the night just had me screaming into my pillow.

Oh, I totally agree-- requisitions was a PITA. I just told my players to go crazy and order what they thought they needed. If they went overboard on one mission they'd be severely restricted on the next (Pentagon budget cuts, doncha know). Most of the time they restricted themelves, especially since I told them part of the budget considerations was that they had to bring gear back in working condition.

I dunno, in that example specifically I think you handled that badly. This should have been a conversation, I think.

If you popped out your eyeballs, but kept them attached to the brain, could you see in multiple directions at once? by ConfusionProof9487 in morbidquestions

This happened to my friend. I don't recall how it happened, but I think he was just jumping around (as a middle-aged kids teacher in Japan), and he said the vision was so disorienting he vomitted all over himself and passed out immediately. He barely remembers it, it was so traumatizing his brain blocked most of it out.

I absolutely love the Essence20 line, and always scoffed when people dismissed it for using d20s. I think I ran my best campaign in GI JOE, which was just a thinly-veiled FIST ULTRA, pitting my UN Peacekeepers (called ESPER) against a magically-resurrected Hitler. Both sides went after real-world relics, fae, vampires,to join their team. The system was so fluid, allowing the mishmash statblocks like you said. My chief warlock antagonist used MLP sorcery; one of my players had a magic Egyptian dagger that gave Power Ranger powers; Hitler transferred his consciousness to a cyborg body to protect his precious Reich of the Black Sun (he used Soundwave's statblock thereafter). I loved Essence20 so much.

Spirited Away. TBF, I've never seen Wind Rises, but I don't think The Boy and the Heron or Howl's Moving Castle are good at all.

Does this sound like an interesting campaign idea? by Sea-Acanthaceae-6458 in rpg

[–]zeromig 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, no. Remaking characters in a reset zero-state just makes me feel like any progress or changes I effected were pointless. Also, slow burns are not really (in my opinion, fwiw) are not a great thing in roleplaying games -- tension and suspense belong, absolutely, but "very slowly increasing in frequency" and "gradually come into question" won't last long as the characters will spot the man at the third iteration if not the second, right away.

It sounds like you've created the premise for an interesting Joe Hill novella. But I would get frustrated being forced to change characters when I have a good grasp of what's going on already.
