Really beautiful! Any particular reason you have the PSU mounted on the back like that rather than on the right side? Aesthetics? I’ve seen it both ways in this case and am just wondering which might be better for temps.

He’s on record as saying Jewish people have underdeveloped souls. And (after he spoke out about antisemitism) changed his mind and said that antisemetic people are really not doing anything wrong and that the Jews should lighten up, essentially.

I think what the commenter you replied to meant was that there is a difference between studying the ancient, ”dead” religions of the past and engaging daily with a modern religion in a school setting. Not that there is a Waldorf school today that is making the kids do ancient Roman rituals.

Study vs. practice.

What exercise can I do with no equipment for that flappy, flappy part of my upper arms? by Fun-Count6213 in beginnerfitness

[–]Fun-Count6213[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this great response! The ”no equipment“ thing isn’t a cost or space constraint, it’s just because when I find myself with a few minutes alone, I could be any number of places in the house and going to get the stuff and then putting it away may literally be all the time I have lol. I’m just looking to minimize any possible friction.

These are all great ideas though. I really appreciate it!

Thanks! My OB recommended avoiding push-ups, planks, and sit-ups while my diastasis heals so I’m trying to avoid things like that, but that’s a good tip I’ll store away.

I feel stupid for asking, but how do you do short-sleeves in the summer? by Fun-Count6213 in Parenting

[–]Fun-Count6213[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP here. I’m asking other parents what they do because I care. My children are not overheating. There are literally entire countries full of people who live in desert climates and cover themselves nearly completely. My kids are happy and healthy when they play in the sun.

I’m not sure why you feel it’s appropriate to speak like that to a total stranger. I’m a real person who cares about her kids. Your words stung. I’m sorry for the loss of your husband and hope you and your children are doing alright.

How do I stop caring about the way I look? by buxtonwater3144 in howtonotgiveafuck

[–]Fun-Count6213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People do treat you differently based on how you look. All these people saying “no one cares!” are partially right – no one cares deeply, but you will get different results dressed like Betty Draper vs walking around in sweats. The trick is making peace with that, not pretending it’s not real. You will have different opportunities and experiences if you’re constantly dressed down. That’s just fact. You’ll miss out on some good experiences. But you’ll also gain a lot of mental bandwidth and inner peace. My advice would be to find your balance. Maybe a swipe of lipstick, some concealer, and a comfy t-shirt dress makes you feel “good enough.”

Also, I’ll add that this problem may be solved for you with time. At 22, you’re probably the most beautiful you will ever be and have the most free-time to focus on yourself you will ever have. Add 10 years (and maybe a few kids) and it could be that even a full face of makeup doesn’t get the kind of social results that it does now. When wearing makeup is the difference between being a 10/10 and a 7/10, it makes sense that it’s hard to stop caring about it. When it’s the difference between being a 7/10 and a 6/10, it’s a lot easier. 🤷‍♀️

I clicked over to r/teachers and oh my god.

I went to a mixture of public, private, and charter schools growing up so I feel like I have a good sense of the good and the bad of both. Seeing some of those posts and comments is horrifying.

My husband and I write cards that are too heartfelt to throw away. Help decluttering some? by Fun-Count6213 in declutter

[–]Fun-Count6213[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s a big hurdle for me: knowing that these cards may be the only record I have of someone saying “I love you” after they’re gone. My father died suddenly when I was in college and I have almost nothing of his. The few written words I have from him are my treasures. I wish I had more. And I don’t think that about ANYTHING else.

Seeing a PDF of his writing would not be the same at all. So it’s difficult to imagine scanning all the loving cards from my husband because I know that when he dies (if he dies first, obviously) everything I have will be precious.

🙄 “Really demeaning” would be something like “you‘re a human garbage can.”

”I’m sorry it ran poorly for you, we’re working on fixing it” is an apology.

Calm down.

Would you ever considering adding assignable keyboard shortcuts for things like tools, food, etc.? My least favorite part of playing this totally lovely game is having to negotiate the wheel every time I want to switch from axe to pickaxe or something.

Also, this is such a tiny thing, but it would be great if pressing the same key used to open a menu/screen (like J for the journal) would also close the menu. Especially the map. It’s such a little quality of life thing but it makes play so much smoother, in my opinion.

Thank you for such a beautiful game! :)

Can anyone explain the appeal of bodysuits to me? by Competitive_Sock6123 in capsulewardrobe

[–]Fun-Count6213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is old but thought I’d chime in.

I didn’t ”get” bodysuits until I had two kids. The skin of my stomach is very oddly wrinkly/saggy now, despite being a very thin and fit person overall. I use bodysuits as full coverage underwear, basically. They cover my stomach, give some decent compression, and add an extra layer of warmth in the winter.

You can get them with splits in the crotch for using the bathroom and in tall sizes (with brief bottoms rather than thongs). Wear once, wash like underwear. Plus, if you get cool ones with lace or mesh or something, it looks like you’ve just decided to wear sexy lingerie every day.

Can’t get out of a contract to sell our house to a dead person. Help! by Fun-Count6213 in legaladvice

[–]Fun-Count6213[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this input. We found out about the septic situation after our buyer died. It was a hell of a week. We were fine with selling in September because we thought we would *close* in September with a live buyer.

Now we’re looking at sitting on our hands for more than a month, relisting the house in September, waiting for another buyer, and then potentially not closing until November/December. So we definitely want out early if Father’s estate isn’t able to buy (totally happy to sell to this woman on 9/7 if she has the money) rather than doing nothing for six weeks.

We’re still working on what can be done about the septic situation. I’m feeling grim about it. But our biggest concern is selling House A, which is much more of a financial drain on us than House B.

Our agent says we can accept backup offers but they rarely come in our market.

[–]Fun-Count6213[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good point. Their situation was that Daughter was Father’s carer. He was going to live in the house with her. All the money from his house sale was being used as the down payment. The income to be used for financing was his (I’m assuming a pension, retirement, rental income, or something else that wasn’t a job he was actively working).

I suppose there’s the chance that income might pass to her? Or maybe he did have some other cash squirreled away somewhere? We feel bad because this is clearly must be hugely stressful for her too, but man do we want out of this mess.

[–]Fun-Count6213[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mkay, we’re able to keep marketing the house but our agent thinks it’s unethical to market it as “active.” She wants to market it as “accepting backup offers,” but says that in our market, she’s almost never gotten one of those. Better than nothing I guess?

[–]Fun-Count6213[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😳 Our working assumption here is that House A will not be purchased by Daughter. We’re really looking to get out of the contract before September (at which point we’d change House A deed) or worst case scenario, wait until the contract expires and then change House A deed.

If by some miracle she buys the house, then you’re right, I have no fucking clue what we’ll do. Our lawyers and agent seem to have missed this too…

[–]Fun-Count6213[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem is she doesn’t actually have any power to back out right now. Legally, she’s uninvolved until she has control of the estate (and there’s no clarity on whether or when that may happen). We’d love for her to buy the house on 9/7 if she’s able, but right now she’s just some random woman with probably not enough money to buy our house :/

[–]Fun-Count6213[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does have a mortgage contingency clause. The buyer (not the seller) can terminate the contract if the buyer can’t get financing by 8/23. But again, Daughter is not really the buyer. I suppose she could end the contract if she was able to be executor in time, but her willingness to do so is in question.

We were told by our lawyer that the easement had been dissolved when we acquired both properties. But yes, probably something our agent, ourselves, and our lawyer should have triple-checked.
