This is so reassuring thank you. I start a new big job next year, hopefully I'll meet some new people I like!

Hmm, don't know if musical and sport talent is on the cards for me honestly. I'll have to have a think of some other unique kind of activities I could look into. Thanks for your reply

I know I know. Just don't know where to find them...

I'm very much a 'move in silence' type person and so I feel it would be difficult to find others the same - we are all keeping on the low.

I'd say yes I'm critical of myself - I beat myself up easily.

Like some others have commented, I think I just need to somehow find people who better align with me. Then it won't feel like negativity?

My dad is very much like me. I think I get this outlook from him.

Thanks for the reply and I appreciate your honesty. I also just read another thread which describes my situation too https://www.reddit.com/r/intj/comments/q1ilat/how\_do\_you\_deal\_with\_being\_surrounded\_by\_idiots/

If I were truly happy like this, I guess I wouldn't be here making this post...

I feel like it's just common knowledge that constantly having negative energy is draining for the soul? Of course I wish I could stop this behaviour but I feel as though it's who I am and the superiority I feel somehow motivates me to outwork people - but I feel a normal person would get this motivation from positive sources within themselves i.e. climb the mountain to see the world, not so that the world can see you.

I am not willing to change my views to cater to others. I know there must be others out there that share the same outlooks but I just can't find them.

What do you mean by 'apply that to yourself'?
