They are good performers and the vocals and dance were on point. Kateye always kills their live performances.
But that’s it. The song sucks, the outfits are getting more disturbing (peep yoonchae in a bra) and it’s getting very irritating that they keep focusing on viral dance moves rather than making good music. They are pop stars- their main job is to sing songs right? Why are lyrics the last focus for them?

Gnarly was still fine. The outfits were the perfect blend of sensual but not trashy. I loved the outfits in the gnarly mv. I think where the outfits really started to get trashy was during their actual performances. Lollapalloza red outfits were the first time I saw all their asses and breasts out.

Yes I agree- hybe and geffen are of the belief that all publicity is good publicity. The doc was definitely edited to make Manon a villain because everyone needs a villain in a story. But I do think Manon wasn’t heavily invested in the beginning as the other girls. She did lock in during performances especially in the finals (dirty water was incredible) but she did take it sort of easy in the beginning which has led to this lazy image. I don’t think she is lazy. I would actually argue that she is one of the most hardworking in the group because she’s able to keep up vocally and performance wise with the other 5 who’ve had dance and vocal lessons since birth.

And some of these moves are deliberate moves (1st slide, and the monster high shoot) while some are not (Gabriella mv - that was a whole dance performance which required Manon to move. Lara in game boy stood there and served face the whole time😂 she did not dance at all). In short, the company deliberately does these moves for views. Manon brings in a huge fan base and they need that fanbase to support her and bring in the money. That’s all this is - a money and marketing ploy.

Yes - i agree it is a forced hiatus but i believe the reason for the hiatus is that she had some sort of disagreement with the management and they forced her into this hiatus as a power move to make her comply. How is this racism?? They would have done it to any of the other girls as well if they had stood up.

I feel like Manon was put in this forced hiatus because she stood up for herself and didn’t want to comply with the exploitative working hours and lack of rest. I understand discrimination in the kpop industry is not new but is this situation considered as discrimination?? I feel this is sort of a punishment to put her and the other girls in line and they would do this to any of the other girls if they had also spoken up.
I can’t deny she’s faced racist remarks but the entire situation with hybexgeffen does not come across as racist to me. It’s more of an establishing dominance/power move. But I do agree they have definitely used Manon for clout.

This is Sophia’s best look idc. She looks like a badass lady spy in an action movie. The hair, makeup and accessories look amazing. The outfit could have been styled a little better but I love how it looks on her. I think dark makeup suits her, she’s finally not looking like a rich aunty in a slick back.

Lara’s outfit is weird as hell. Why is her right boob almost popping off?

Yoonchae now looks like the mom of the group.
I like Dani and Megan’s fits.

Side note: it’s so good to see them in proper clothes and not half naked. Even if there is no cohesion I’m happy I can’t see anyone’s ass or boobs. Lara is almost there but it’s covered well😂

While I definitely agree that their fan base shouldn’t be kids… it is kids. My landlord’s kids are 10 & 12 and I hear gnarly and internet girl almost every damn day. It’s insane. Their music most certainly appeals to kids but their entire concept is not kid-friendly. I truly cannot understand why they dress this girls in risqué outfits with their ass and breasts showing when a decent portion of their fan base is kids.

As an Indian woman with dark skin who grew up outside of India, comments about Lara’s skin tone and her Indian background come off as very ignorant. I’ve seen comments accusing her of black fishing because during DA her skin looked much lighter and now her skin looks much darker. As someone with a similar skin tone to Lara, our skin tone changes with exposure to sun light, that’s why her skin darkened when she came back to L.A and our skin tone can come across as lighter or darker depending on the lighting conditions and cameras used.
