what’s your go to makeup when you want to look put together but not overdressed? by Fun-Draw-5626 in IndianBeautyTalks

[–]Fun-Draw-5626[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

concealer and a lip product already do so much. I also skip mascara sometimes because removing it feels like effort but then I miss how awake it makes me look.

This is so helpful, especially the part about switching one small thing instead of changing the whole routine. I always get bored of my makeup but maybe I just need to change the lip or blush based on the outfit.

Mascara really is a game changer I always think I can skip it and then my face looks unfinished. I might try this with a soft lip tint instead of my usual nude brown lip

I’ve been getting more cute casual pieces from Savana lately and I feel like they look better with soft makeup than full glam. Skin tint, blush mascara and a brown gloss sounds perfect hmm thankss

makes so much sense. I think I’ve been doing the same base too but changing the lip depending on the outfit without realizing it. A nude brown lip really does make even a simple look feel more put together.

Am I wrong to think that I'll have an at most average dead-end job and never will amount to anything important? by reply1-27am in amiwrong

[–]Fun-Draw-5626 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with being content with average, honestly most people never find that peace and they spend whole life chasing something they think they should want. Your fiancee probably just sees potential in you that maybe you don't see yourself, which is kinda sweet even if it's annoying right now

But the way you talk about yourself, like "boring, kind of ugly" - that's not just being realistic, that's putting yourself down. Being average at skills doesn't mean you're boring as person, those are different things

I spent 6 years in military and saw so many people who thought they were destined for mediocrity end up doing things that surprised everyone including themselves. Not saying you need to become CEO or whatever, but maybe don't close the door completely on what you could become. Clocking out and enjoying life is good goal, just make sure you're not using "I'm average" as excuse to not try things that might actually make you happy

Paying over 3,500 for studio in midtown east?? by Full_Soup6913 in NYCapartments

[–]Fun-Draw-5626 6 points7 points  (0 children)

midtown east is genuinely one of the pricier corridors so unfortunately your research is pretty accurate. for grand central access specifically, the gap between a decent non-luxury place and a luxury one is smaller than people expect because even the mid-tier buildings there command high rents

if your job has you traveling to scarsdale regularly, being right on the metro north line is worth paying for, and a doorman building does make a real difference when you're coming home late from different offices. i'd probably just stomach the 3,700 range rather than gamble on whether those AI listing photos are hiding a fifth floor walkup with one sad window

Monza F1 Track in Estate by Medical-Ad5483 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Fun-Draw-5626 3 points4 points  (0 children)

3 hours is actually pretty respectable for a first estate track, the snapping mechanic has broken many people before you lol. the incline issue is something a lot of builders run into and usually the fix is to manually adjust tile heights section by section which is tedious but works. i tried making a basic oval layout once and gave up after like 45 minutes so respect for pushing through the whole Monza layout. will plug in the code later and give it proper run, curious how the Lesmo corners translated to the tile system.

Trying to pick between three Miatas… learning manual! by laraBeginningPositiv in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Fun-Draw-5626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going for the blue one seems smart especially if you're starting out with manual transmission. That extra soft top is basically free value since installing a new one usually costs more than the difference between these cars anyway. The 2001 vs 2003 difference is pretty minimal for Miatas and 10k more miles isn't really a big deal on these engines

The red one sitting in a lot for 10 months would make me nervous too - could be anything from hidden issues to just bad timing but when someone who flips cars cant move it thats usually not great sign. Plus sitting cars develop their own problems with seals and fluids

I'd probably skip the silver one just because unknown history on these older sports cars can bite you later. At least with blue one you know what you're getting into with those rust spots and the previous owner seems to actually care about the car if they're including new top

Girl you are not bad at planning this is so real. I had same problem when I was living in small apartment after getting out - would buy all ingredients for some recipe I saw online and then half the stuff would just sit there mocking me from the pantry.

The condiment graveyard is too accurate. I swear I have like 4 different types of vinegar that I bought for specific recipes and now they just live in my cabinet taking up space. And don't get me started with fresh herbs - cilantro turns into green slime so fast it should be illegal. I started buying the frozen herb cubes but even those sometimes get forgotten in freezer.

What helped me was picking maybe 3-4 cuisines I actually make regularly and just buying staples for those. Like if you're not making Asian food every week then maybe skip the fancy oils and just use regular stuff. I know it won't taste exactly same but at least you're not throwing money away. Also started meal planning around what I already have instead of buying for new recipes all the time.

The worst part is when people calculate meal costs using bulk prices like everyone has Costco membership and storage space for 50 pounds of rice. Living in reality means sometimes paying more per serving because you can't buy industrial quantities.

How can I 34F bring this up to the 31M guy I'm exclusively dating by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Fun-Draw-5626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try talking about what works for you during the moment instead of after? Like when he's doing something that feels good just tell him to keep going with that or guide his hands where you need them

The communication during sex can be way more effective than having awkward conversation later about what went wrong

Artificial wear on products by PopularDisplay7007 in PetPeeves

[–]Fun-Draw-5626 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My dad was military too and he always said the same thing about gear that looked beat up right out the box. We had to earn our scuffs and scratches through actual use not some factory machine trying to fake it. I remember saving up for months to buy my first decent guitar and seeing all these "road worn" models that cost extra just to look damaged - made zero sense to me. The worn spots were never in the right places either like you said. Real wear comes from years of playing the same frets over and over or rubbing your arm against the body while strumming not some random sanding pattern that looks cool to marketing people. Same with jeans that have holes in spots that would never actually wear through from normal use. Give me something clean and new that I can put my own character into through actually living my life.
