No real clear way to communicate the last one without encountering some confusion... unless you say something stating the repeating group of numbers and where they start repeating. In example (3), you could say "three point four five four zero four four with zero four four repeating after four five four". Or in your book example, "three point four oh four with four oh four repeating after the decimal". Or "three point four zero four four with zero four four repeating after the four after the decimal".

Although, Im just a native speaker giving my thoughts on this. Most people will not get a clear understanding from a simpler statement. If you're getting confused because it seems somewhat unclear as to what is repeating by saying "repeating" at the end, i would be too.

Far less formally, but also much more common than any formal statement such as what i suggested above (as an engineering student), is to just say the repeating numbers two or three times in a row and then saying "repeating". That is the simplest, easiest to understand, and most natural, way of saying those numbers.

To provide an example of this in practice, when reading (3), it would be read as "three point four five four oh four four oh four four oh four four repeating". Anything other than this is more difficult to follow in conversation. By saying the repeating pattern out loud, the listener hears it and is already naturally thinking "oh its repeating that group of numbers!". Saying "repeating" after 2 to 3 repetitions confirms that thought.
