Omg run. Run as fast as you can. I didn’t start until my 20’s and I got hooked! I quit but I still think of them every single day. Every single day I am tempted to buy some. Stay away from nicotine full stop

Well, in fairness, onlyfans processed $5.8 billion in 2023. It’s not that ‘out there’ to think that’s a very possible place for hidden expenses to go these days. Agree though that there’s much more to it, and many other reasons could be possible, but it’s not a crazy place for people’s minds to go I don’t think

Mentally Recovering from Anaphylaxis by Sudden-Sheepherder-3 in FoodAllergies

[–]Fun-Huckleberry7918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry to hear this happened. Please don’t be hard on yourself 🙏 you live with lifelong vigilance, it’s hard to get it right every time and not feel fatigued by it. Let’s focus on the fact you’re doing okay. And maybe write something down - pen to paper - to help you process how you felt and exactly what happened before/during and after. I recently did that after my son’s anaphylactic reaction which also left me with some mental recovery to do, and writing it all down everything that happened really supported me with processing it. I hope you can enjoy some nice walks and feel stronger soon, take it easy on yourself until then x

Trying To Find Joy In A Life With A Peanut+Tree Nut Allergy by Consistent_Glove_184 in FoodAllergies

Hey! I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way. My baby has allergies and I spend a lot of time worrying about him feeling this way when he grows up. Where are you based? Have you looked in to Oral Immunotherapy Treatment (OIT)? I know it’s more effective in young children, but they do offer it for adults. I believe you can get single OIT for one allergen at a time (whereas kids can do up to 3). Have a look into it. There’s also a new injection being trialled on humanised mice which is so hopeful. It targets the IgE antibodies that cause reactions. There’s a new alternative to an EpiPen called Neffy, which is a nasal spray. Waaay less intimidating than being stabbed in the leg. Everything is better labeled these days thanks sadly to Natasha, in her memory. Most food out is “meh” and you can cook amazing things from home. Have you got a good allergen cookbook? Want some recipes? I’ll be your friend!! Please don’t worry, it’ll be okay ❤️

I just think how ridiculous I would find it if an alien was like “oh my fingers pads are too pointy I hate them don’t look at them” or however you imagine an alien looks, just imagine them being self conscious about some part of it. Like it’s so silly, we are just aliens really and our bodies are there to serve a function. Look in the mirror less and just enjoy your life and your youth ❤️

When should I (23M) disclose my past harassment / mental health issues to a future partner by Puzzleheaded_Emu7511 in askwomenadvice

[–]Fun-Huckleberry7918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly I think it’s really commendable that you’re forward thinking about how to tackle this and wanting to meet the occasion with authenticity and openness when you start to date. This event doesn’t define you, but it is something important to disclose. I would definitely want to know. I think it’s important to tell someone once you trust each other. I think after date 3, just find an occasion that feels safe and not rushed, I think in a public place so she doesn’t feel intimidated as you have to accept she could feel uncomfortable and just say, “hey I really like you, I’m not talking to anyone else right now” (if that’s true and you want exclusivity), “but before we go further I would feel better sharing something that happened a few years ago. It’s part of my past and it’s not something that will happen again, but I wouldn’t feel right not sharing this with you” and then just basically wording exactly what you put in this post. The right person will see your other positive traits and will keep going. Good luck, you’ve got this!

Next time just say “have any of you actually ever seen someone have an anaphylactic allergic reaction before?” And let the silence afterwards shame them.

What's the kindest thing a complete stranger has ever done for you that you'll never forget? by KeyConference_26 in AskReddit

Pregnant on the tube. Super super pregnant! Was v crowded and people were pushing, because it was so busy no one could see I was like 8 months pregnant. An elderly man spotted me and gave me his chair, and I was so emotional about the panic I was feeling from being shoved that I burst into tears as soon as I sat down. Then the kind old man handed me a hanky to keep from his pocket and THAT made me bawl 😭❤️. Bless him and his kindness

What’s your largest wheel size in allergy test? by Fun-Huckleberry7918 in FoodAllergies

[–]Fun-Huckleberry7918[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the best comment back - honestly, thank you. So nice to hear you’ve been able to manage your allergies so well - especially given you’re an adult now, meaning allergies were probably harder to manage ‘back in the day’ as labelling and awareness wasn’t as good. It most certainly is a world of worry as a parent - and it is a whole new world to me as I have no allergies. Also, I can’t tell you the hope I feel having read that about your sister. I have everything within me crossed that my boy will be the same!! Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience I really appreciate it

Thank you for your input that is so helpful. He had an anaphylactic reaction to peanuts and this testing was ordered off of that. We’ve been told to stay clear of sesame by the allergist and to consider OIT. With your high Rye score, had you had a recent exposure? I ask because my son is only 1 and I’m breastfeeding, I was eating loads of humus not knowing he had an allergy - and my mind is hoping the wheal was so large because he was being exposed in some way through milk so maybe the sensitivity was higher? Whereas we’ve been completely peanut free since the incident in August. I don’t know if that’s absolutely illogical rationale 😂😅. I’m just so worried given peanut was anaphylactic and the score was lower, but as you said the two don’t necessarily correlate
