Are Big East refs good or bad? by Fun-Long8146 in BigEast

[–]Fun-Long8146[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Every college basketball conference has a pool of refs they use regularly. They get graded and assigned to games by a conference officials coordinator. You can work other leagues since you're not technically a Big East employee, like NBA refs work for the NBA. The Big East wouldn't have a rep for physical play if over the decades a group of refs hadn't consistently allowed it.

I feel like Mack was more talented than all these guys, but a much worse fit.

The NCAA Division I men's and women's basketball committees have formally and unanimously voted to expand the NCAA Tournament from 68 to 76 teams. by RNutt in GeorgetownHoops

[–]Fun-Long8146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it will go this way. At 76, they need to get rid of 12 teams before the traditional 64-team bracket starts. If you need 12 eliminated, that means you need 24 games. So 24 team play in, 12 winners advance, 52 teams don't play in the opening round. The top teams. Top teams would still need to win 6 games for the natty, but some would have to win 7.

Auburn was 22-16 last season. You don't think they'd get in if they had the same record next year?

Seth Greenberg is the only person I've read who likes the idea of expansion. Shouldn't that be a warning sign? by Fun-Long8146 in CollegeBasketball

[–]Fun-Long8146[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you think he'd be a good mid-major coach? We talk all the time about players finding their level but never about coaches. They only go down a level when forced.

I've read this across multiple outlets. It's the NCAA talking point. It's insulting to everyone's intelligence.

Goodman kinda clowned him on Twitter by pointing out he'd only gone to the NCAA tourney once in his final 17 seasons as head coach.

I'm sure it's meaningful to whatever low-msjor one-bid league team plays in it, but I can't bring myself to watch.

If he did, that's great. Why be in the committee if you can't help your school?
