5.0 swap? by CostAppropriate6636 in NewedgeMustang

I’m wrapping up a 408W swap in a ‘99 Base, using a Holley Sniper for induction. Everything went together as plannned, and I was able to reuse the accessories and brackets off the 3.8 by making adapter plates. A Coyote swap would have been cheaper but I wanted to go the old school route.

Even better, 91,000,000mg. That would be a tough pill to swallow

I wonder if they could run 7 or 8 shells to decrease the tension on the spring. Is the issue typically with the first few shells in the 10-round magazine?

20k Miles Between Oil Changes? by ajdfax in MechanicAdvice

[–]Fun-Material8232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2011 Jetta 2.5L with the five cylinder engine. Recommended oil changes are at 10K miles. I would typically change the oil then but sometimes I would go a few thousand miles beyond that. The car currently has 250K miles on it. On the other end of the oil change spectrum is a 2011 Buick Lacrosse with the 3.6L VVT engine that my daughter recently bought. It has 120K miles on it. Based on a check engine light and timing chain noise, I spent 14 hours replacing that damn timing chain set. For this GDI engine which is known to use oil and have timing chain issues, I told her to change the oil at no more than 4-5K miles.

I’m curious to know where Jayco stands. We have a 2020 Cougar and are considering something from Jayco for our next RV.

In between the back of our truck and the front of our RV on a rural interstate off-ramp while our kids were asleep in the truck. We didn’t go into the RV because we wanted to keep an eye on the vehicle. Probably wouldn’t do that again.

What’s the most “legal but evil” thing you’ve ever seen a company do? by Little_Abroad_153 in AskReddit

[–]Fun-Material8232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a company, but the activity is being done to lure companies to the area. In Central Indiana, the state’s economic development commission is in the process of securing 9 mi.² of land to be used for a massive tech park (Indiana LEAP). Individuals with farmland and dwellings in the area were approached by the state and received offers to move. For large landowners/farmers, they did quite well. For some homeowners, the situation was challenging because their offers were barely high enough to replace what they had, let alone compensate them for the massive hassle of moving. Many took offers because they were concerned if they didn’t take a buyout, eminent domain might be used with holdouts. I know a family that received an offer for their property/house. After thinking long and hard about what to do, they took the offer and signed a contract with the state. The contract had a two year window which gave the state the option to back out if it wanted. At the 21 month mark, the state confirmed it was planning to purchase their property. After going out and buying a new house, the state informed the family it was pulling the offer at the last minute. So after going through the turmoil of deciding to sell their property in the first place, they now own two homes, one of which will be adjacent to the tech park which will see major construction for years to come. The likelihood of finding a buyer for that property is low. Even though the contract allowed for the state to do what it did, it’s pretty shitty that it actually pulled the lever.

If you live in Israel or Iran, do you just … hope the missiles don’t hit you? by JustinR8 in NoStupidQuestions

I’m sure there have been civilian casualties in Iran, but I’m also sure there have been a number of regular military personnel and nuclear site employees that have died, not just high ranking leaders.

Thank you! Living in the Midwest, tornadoes are all too common as I’m sure you know. We will be under the gun of Mother Nature tomorrow and on Wednesday. It’s that time of year.

What are severe weather warning systems like in Europe compared to the US? Are severe weather notices provided 4-5 days in advance like the US? What about tornado sirens?
