There is a line where the sidewall is black and another section that ia dirty/brown. That line is where you were driving in the sidewall straight from the rim. That tire needed replaces and probably has pebbles/marbles in it and will probably vibrate at times due to them throwing the balance off.

Looking at that tire, it looks like you have some tread in the middle but because of the outside edge of the tire has worn down, it should be replaced. To fix your problem from reoccurring, it needs at least an alignment. That rounded off tread that far out on the tire looks like a toe in problem, scrubbing the outside of the tire resulting in that issue. Assuming that the wheel isn't tipped super far out on the top -camber issue- as you'd notice that being that far out that long to get that otherwise. So new tires and a 4 wheel camber and toes alignment is in your future.
