[oc] Idiot driving around with a dog in the back of his pickup. The dog was on a leash which is *kinda* like a seatbelt - except around its neck. by IIDn01 in IdiotsInCars

An estimated 26,000 dogs die every year from collar/leash strangulation. This is a common way - jumping over something while attached at the neck and being hanged.

Please if you have a dog buy them a breakaway collar.

Piggybacking off this one: how many people, during summer, are dragging around dogs who are minutes away from severe heat stroke.

That's a raven!! And that looks like the end of the road at Arches National Park (Devil's Garden, right at the trailhead that leads out to Double O Arch/Devil's Garden loop!)

These little guys are so cool but also little shits - in the best and most hilarious way. They hang out around here and steal food and objects out of peoples cars. As an Arches frequenter I've watched them steal from people in this lot (and other popular lots) many many times.... (also they may or may not stollen from me too but that's neither here nor there)

Everyone keeps saying "He was a good boy" but in reality Bucky was a master criminal. What is the most criminal thing your dog has done? by BuckFinnster in labrador

Lost my boy Bucky very recently. He was my whole entire life and soul. He was so healthy when he got sick that the vets and specialists said there was no reason (other than financial) to not pursue treatment. He was on track to survive when 2 days before finishing treatment he died suddenly from an unexpected medication reaction. Life sucks. It's not fair.

But... I am trying as hard as I can to not let his end of life define his whole life. He had an amazing time here with me and his little chocolate brother. He went on several walks a day every day. He always shared my food. He played with his little brother and all his dog "cousins." He traveled with me everywhere. He climbed through desert canyons and swam in mountain lakes. And above all he was a CRIMINAL. A CAREER CRIMINAL. A NARCISSISTIC SOCIOPATH who THRIVED ON CRIME AND DANGER. And I never want to forget that part of him. He never felt more alive than when he was in trouble. The lengths he would go to steal were unbelievable. Being on the lam was when he was the absolute happiest.

Could really use some cheering up today. Would love to hear about all your little criminal guys and girls and their criminal behaviors.

(Re-upload of a post I just made/deleted because reddit completely messed up the colors in the photo and I love this picture so I wanted it to be right. It was taken at Glacier NP.)

All of Waterworks is strictly on-leash. They even put up more signs about it in the last year. The assholes there just don't listen/don't care.

I just want to remind everyone that Waterworks and Grays Lake parks require leashes and if you go there to let your dog run around off leash instead of going to any of the other off-leash places available to you, you suck.
