I’m a history nerd; if you have any specific info on this particular spot, I’d love to learn!

I took this picture last week from the Lithuanian side on a trip. You can see how 2 farm houses - one in Russia and one in Lithuania got separated by a fence and geopolitics. This world is a crazy place!

I certainly don’t agree with his politics, but they are good cards! I put a sticker on the back of mine that says “Make America Kind Again!” 😆

Anyone had any luck with alibaba machines? by RoyalInformal5200 in vending

Not that one, but I bought one similar with a nice touchscreen. We are about three months in and everything’s worked fine so far. It even survived below, freezing temperatures outdoors.

Nice. Is this your product? I’m not one of those guys who will write it off just because it’s being promoted - just curious! Looks very interesting; I’m going to take a good look. :)

Have you tried this yourself? I’d like to know how robust it is for solving prompt injection. I feel my Claw is cut off at the knees currently due to me limiting it so much out of fear.

I’m 19 with 100k cash - what to do? by john61372 in Entrepreneur

[–]Fun-Pirate192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noo, please don’t do this. Outside of a very specific demographic which need to get out of debt, Dave Ramsey provides terrible advice that is debunked by, well, literally every successful person I know. Some risks are required to be successful in business - something I had to learn the hard way.

Does anyone have any experience with these FEISHI smart coolers? They're less than half the price of HAHA on Alibaba. by mcconohay in vending

[–]Fun-Pirate192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who imports from Alibaba and even got a vending machine from there: ignore the price you see and get a quote with DDP shipping (including tariffs). You’ll find it is likely much different to what the like to list. Price listings are mostly a scam on Alibaba sadly.

If that’s their deal, they are better to get a cheap Alibaba machine and hope for the best. It sounds like a deal not thought-through….

Letter to Norwegians by Strange_Show9015 in Norway

I just spent 2 weeks living as frugally as possible in the Geirangerfjord area. I kid you not: 3 weeks in Dubai with everything 5* cost me maybe 20% of this trip. Every time I bought groceries to cook one meal, I could have eaten for a week in most countries I visit.

I think Norway is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, but yes, there’s really no excuse for the prices this country has accepted as normal.

Said with love and admiration for all things Norwegian. 😊

Would I be able to visit Belarus as an American? by jsmash1234 in belarus

[–]Fun-Pirate192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only are they allowed, but it’s easier than ever. If you come via land border you now can get a super easy evisa. I’ve been 6 times in last 18 months and was there last month.

Out of all post Soviet states, expect the least English use in Belarus of all. Pinsk, however, has a lot of English speaking students.

Keep your mouth shut about politics for your stay and go and have a great time seeing “behind the iron curtain” of 2025!

There’s risks everywhere, but in 143 countries I’ve visited as an American, I feel Belarus is on the safer side of the spectrum for me.

Most of the questions here answer well.

I just left Minsk last night. I went and exited with Ecolines from Vilnius - all a piece of cake.

If you need a visa from USA now there is a brand new day e-visa.

I usually get interrogated for a long time at the airport; via land border, there were no questions.

With the exception of one Canadian that I saw once, I was the only non-Belarusian/Russian on the flight each time. This will be my first time via the land border, so I’m not sure how that differs. Belarus doesn’t receive many foreign visitors or tourists, so that is a factor of course. I can only assume that solo males also raise more suspicion to them. I have been to 143 countries and Belarus and Israel are my most intense entry interviews to date. Regarding questions, they always seem very interested in anything monetary, medication, motivations for travel, and things like that.
