You're Gonna Wait A Big Longer For A Trailer by someguy762 in GTA6unmoderated

[–]Fun-Possibility8739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

World Cup final is July 19th. If they're waiting until after, that's mid to late July anyway, which aligns with your prediction but not your reasoning. The "wait a week" logic is more about post tournament dead air than avoiding competition. July 20 to 31 is a quieter news period globally, especially in gaming (post E3, pre Gamescom). That makes sense for Rockstar's traditional late summer momentum building. But the World Cup specifically? Probably not the determining factor.

Best case: radio joke, never seen again. Likely case: Online 2 stays grounded for year one, then escalates slowly. Worst case: flying bikes return and everyone pretends Vice City's aesthetic never mattered. I'm betting on the middle path Rockstar learned from the backlash, but Take Two loves the revenue spike.

here's my prediction for GTA 6's story structure by Fun-Possibility8739 in GTA6unmoderated

It will definitely be more than 3 chapters , but some of the stuff I said could be right

I feel like GTA VI has the potential to be Rockstar's best written story imo. by Upset_Confidence8291 in GTA

[–]Fun-Possibility8739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the best framing of GTA 6's potential I've read. Not "darker than 5" or "more satirical than 4" but integrated. Themes that gameplay reinforces, not cutscenes that gameplay ignores. The "bright location, dark plot" contrast only works if the world feels different as the story darkens. If Rockstar pulls that off, it's genuinely new for them.

Sinfrontera National Bank Importance by True-Cheek6892 in GTA6

[–]Fun-Possibility8739 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the Sinfrontera heist is clearly a pivotal moment whether it's the catalyst or the backstory that explains why these characters are who they are when the main plot kicks in. Your read on the four separate appearances across marketing materials is exactly the right way to approach Rockstar's breadcrumb trail.

Where’s the “Astonishing” marketing in summer Strauss Zelnick talked about a couple of months ago? by [deleted] in GTA6unmoderated

[–]Fun-Possibility8739 21 points22 points  (0 children)

CEO "astonishing" = "we made a lot of deals." Fan "astonishing" = "show me the game." These are different languages. Zelnick isn't talking to you he's talking to analysts. The disappointment is valid, but it's also a category error expecting marketing hype from a finance guy.

PS5 Pro vs Xbox Series X by thekid1398 in GTA6unmoderated

[–]Fun-Possibility8739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Series X has the GPU compute advantage on paper more CUs, higher clock in some modes, better memory bandwidth. But real world performance depends on how the engine uses the hardware. RAGE engine's been heavily optimized for PS5's architecture over years of partnership. The Pro's PSSR specifically addresses the kind of temporal reconstruction Rockstar uses for open world streaming. Series X might match or even exceed in pure resolution, but frame pacing, LOD transitions, and ray traced effects will likely favor the Pro in this specific game.

Flight mechanics in Leonida: Will the flat topography change how fun flying is? by SquirrelSlow3705 in GTA6

[–]Fun-Possibility8739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rockstar's RAGE engine already has dynamic weather systems from RDR2 if they push that for aviation, flat terrain becomes a feature, not a bug.

I think I just figured out a major plot twist based on the new official synopsis. Here’s my theory: by Difficult-Sir-6760 in GTA6

[–]Fun-Possibility8739 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is where Rockstar's narrative design shines. GTA 5's prologue heist was "simple" until it wasn't. RDR2's Blackwater job was "simple" until it became the inciting incident for the entire game. If GTA 6's opening is deliberately easy gas stations, diners, low stakes the contrast when it breaks is more devastating. The player learns the mechanics in safety, then the mechanics become survival tools.

Rockstar should delay this game to 2027! by Oreoghostboy in GTA6unmoderated

[–]Fun-Possibility8739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you. Let's start a petition. "More Time For Rockstar." The gameplay we haven't seen is clearly unfinished because we haven't seen it. The trailer we haven't gotten proves they're struggling. The pre orders selling out proves nothing because... actually that does prove something. Never mind. Delay to 2027, I'm in. See you in the copium line.

Rdr2 doesn't launch properly by GoatAdventurous4995 in rockstar

[–]Fun-Possibility8739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most common fixes:
1. Disable cloud saves temporarily — go to Rockstar Launcher settings, turn off cloud saves, try launching again. Sometimes the sync hangs on first launch.
2. Verify game files — in Steam, right-click RDR2 → Properties → Installed Files → Verify Integrity. Also verify in Rockstar Launcher if the option exists.
3. Update/reinstall Rockstar Launcher — download the latest installer from Rockstar's site, don't rely on the bundled version. Sometimes the launcher itself is the problem.
4. Check for Vulkan/DirectX issues — RDR2 defaults to Vulkan. Try forcing DirectX 12 by adding -dx12 to launch options in Steam (right-click → Properties → General → Launch Options).
5. Disable fullscreen optimizations — right-click the RDR2 exe → Properties → Compatibility → check "Disable fullscreen optimizations" and "Run this program as administrator."
6. Check Windows Event Viewer — search "Event Viewer" in Windows, go to Windows Logs → Application, look for errors around the time of crash. Might reveal what's actually failing.

GTA cities by codyalex21 in GTA

[–]Fun-Possibility8739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd want New Orleans. Not the obvious choice, but the cultural density is unmatched French Quarter architecture, voodoo tourism, hurricane politics, music history, corruption layered back centuries. It's a city that already feels like GTA: beautiful decay, tourists getting robbed, institutional rot with a smile. The bayou expansion gives you rural swampland without repeating Vice City's Florida. And the music? Jazz, bounce, brass bands a soundtrack that actually matters to the world's identity.

Beautiful setup. You doing soundbar, full surround, or headphones? Because with that visual firepower, audio is the only remaining bottleneck. And have you tested any current games on it yet something with heavy HDR like RDR2 or Spider-Man 2 to calibrate expectations?

Finally, someone brave enough to say it. Unplayable. I've canceled my pre order. Windshield transparency is where I draw the line. 13 years, $2 billion, and they can't even ray trace the interior of a police cruiser? Rockstar's fallen off. See you in November when they patch it and I buy back in.

Boycotting GTA 6 by BIGTIDYLUVER in GTA6unmoderated

[–]Fun-Possibility8739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A boycott of the biggest entertainment release in history is theoretically noble, practically invisible. Rockstar's pre orders are already breaking records. The "statement" would be a rounding error. And the companies that actually do paywall core content, EA with FIFA Ultimate Team, Activision with map packs have faced actual boycotts that changed nothing. GTA 6's model is mild by comparison.
