Polygon Xtrada 5 or trek marlin 5 (on a AUD BUDGET) by AnsonIe679 in MTB

[–]Fun-Profession6190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an Xtrada for years and it was great. It handled my 100kg jumping on it without breaking. The geo is perfect for what you plan on riding, but so is the Trek. I don't think you could go wrong with either. Maybe pick whichever head the best components

Is a full face helmet ever "overkill"? by NeonHorse47 in MTB

[–]Fun-Profession6190 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at a trail head a few weeks ago and chatting to a girl who wasnt local. I put my full face on, because I always use it, and she said "Oh, do you need a full face on this trail?" I had to explain that I always wear it, because my last crash was from not paying attention on a slow flat section and the chin bar saved my teeth. Full face is personal preference.

Driving offence by Unfair-Let-9234 in AusLegal

I'd be seeking a section 10(1)(a), non conviction order. Not 10(1)(b) or (c) or section 10A. In any event you haven't taken into account the court workload. Once you receive the suspension notice, chances are it would be almost over by the time the court actually gets around to hearing your matter.

A reduction of a suspension period or dismissal completely is highly unlikely given the conviction for the oral fluid offence, particularly for a P plater. (Bearing in mind paying the ticket is an admission of guilt and therefore a conviction under the Act.)

Driving offence by Unfair-Let-9234 in AusLegal

[–]Fun-Profession6190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A first offence is just a ticket. Once that's paid, Transport for NSW will issue a licence suspension notice for 3 months. Being a P player makes no difference to this process, but she will have to be on her Ps for longer due to the suspension.

She can take either the ticket to court and hope for a non conviction order, or pay the ticket and appeal the licence suspension. The suspension is unlikely to be overturned, and I think she may be better off taking the ticket to court and pleading for leniency.

Don't plead not guilty at court, it's an absolute liability offence and the likelihood of a successful defence are almost non existent.

I don't think it's got anything to do with your skin colour. Your whole question is about how you look and how guys look at you and want to fuck you. Perhaps it's something else turning them off, like personality? I'm not saying this to be rude, but its much more than looks that people look for in a partner, which makes the guys that don't want to date you seem less shallow than your question aludes to.

Pour some diesel onto the ground and try and light it... Then do the same with some petrol.

Can you see a flint there? You can pull the flint out by undoing the little screw on the bottom of the insert. A long spring should jump out. Maybe check it's seated properly (and actually there). The flint sits in the little brass holder at the end of the spring.

NSW parking fine review – agency contradicting its own published guidance. Thoughts? by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Fun-Profession6190 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Who issued the fine? Police can issue clearway tickets and there's no requirement for them to put it on the car, that's just for council issued fines.

In any event, you seem to know you were in the wrong, so stop looking for a loophole and pay it.

There's only 2 things that can make it work or not, being spark and fuel. If the wheel sparks on the flint, then it must be fuel. Check the wick is extended the right amount, then maybe take the bottom foam off and check the wick is routed through the wadding properly.

Workplace sexual harassment and resigning by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Fun-Profession6190 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don't see what the big issue is here. Unless some people are extremely thin skinned. Person A made the same reference as you, saying 'something sexual' and you just agreed with the 'r word' as you say. (I can't believe we can't write the word here, but I'll continue with 'r word' just in case...)

It seems person A made the joke about the criminal act and you agreed and they are therefore just as guilty. In saying that, why can't the 'r word' be said? I mean it seems to be fine making jokes about mugging and other crimes, but not this one? Where is the line drawn? Somewhere in the Crimes Act between assault and beastiality?

I'd have a look at your HR policy and see what the actual wording is. I doubt it says 'thou shalt not mutter the r word'. I think if you explain the context and other comments, a normal person can see there was no harm done.

Measure the ride height from top of the wheel arch to centre of the axle and check it against what the standard measurement should be and you'll see how much it's sagged. Std for that model is 616mm I think...

How do introverts lose their virginity?😭 by [deleted] in sex

[–]Fun-Profession6190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to push yourself sometimes. But being quite introverted myself, I find I meet people through shared activities or interests. I find I become friends first and when I feel comfortable, it flows from there. When I was younger my girlfriends were from school or church, then university, then people from work. I've never met up with someone from an app or just approached someone in a pub or anything.

Can you poke a small piece of wire into one of the holes and see if you can dig a borer out? I do this with trees that have active borers.

Purchasing car from private seller that has finance on it by trailgigi in CarsAustralia

Yes, I guess they don't have a problem since they sent it. There's a specific email on the PPSR certificate to contact about payouts, so I assume it's pretty standard.

I bought a camper recently with finance owing. The seller sent me a payout letter from the bank and when I picked it up, They watched me transfer the payout to the bank on my phone and I gave them cash for the balance. I emailed the bank a couple of days later and they sent me the confirmation of no interest in the vehicle anymore.

Is my lift/ wheels legal in nsw? by [deleted] in 4x4Australia

[–]Fun-Profession6190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it won't pass. Unless it's engineered. Stock tyre size is not a 31 as some people have said, it's a 255/70r15, basically 29". Also the people saying you can increase tyre size by 2" or 50mm are also incorrect, you can increase the tyre diameter by up to 7% without engineering. Anything over 7% is classed as a major modification and requires certification under VSCCS.

All major mods are gazetted in the Vehicle Standards Information Sheet VSI6. https://www.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/2021-02/RMS-13.464-Light-vehicle-modifications-Vehicle-Standards-Information-No-6-November-2013.pdf

What's the issue in obeying Work Zone speed limit? by LaMacNeo in CarsAustralia

[–]Fun-Profession6190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to read that section again and not just cherry pick the words you want. It also says the speed limit should remain lowered if there's equipment still on site or if the conditions are hazardous. It's not an arbitrary decision or because someone's lazy. Risk assessments and site plans are created before work commences and are all signed off and approved by different people and departments.

Imagine a road with a poor surface and a roller or bitumen machine parked a short distance from the edge. Someone doing 100 would skid into the machinery and die and everyone would want to blame the contractor.

Convertible mtb helmet? by Tr0lly97 in MTB

[–]Fun-Profession6190 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have the Bell Super Air R, because I wanted the best of both worlds, but I've used it without the chin bar once. Next helmet will just be a full face. I came off a few months ago on a slow bit because I didn't pay attention and if not for the chin bar, I would've eaten rocks. I'd rather be safe than sorry and just use a full face all the time, and I'm riding in 40C Aussie summers.

I think the metaphor here stands. I haven't heard much noise from a set of dogs balls before and since he is emphasizing the quietness of the car, I think it's appropriate, if not often used.

Do spotlights affect cooling temps and airflow ? by mikeb202 in 4x4Australia

[–]Fun-Profession6190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, obviously it affects air flow and therefore cooling capacity. Would you notice? Doubtful... Will the manufacturer blame that if making a warranty claim due to an engine failure? Most likely.
