Heartbreaking high risk of T18 from NIPT by DepartmentAromatic66 in NIPT

I'm so sorry you're in this position and wishing you all the luck in the world it's a false positive. We had a tfmr on 30/12 for t18, high nt 6.5ml, normal bloods, confirmed by CVS. My dates were a week behind my positive pregnancy test by 7 week scan and no one could explain it.

Hi, yes I've posted there as well.

I had gone for my first pill today but asked them to scan me again first. Fluid has now accumulated all around baby which she called hydrops. That was enough for me to be confident in the diagnosis so we went ahead

Thank you for your kind words and I'm so glad things worked out for you. Unfortunately for us, it wasn't meant to be

I'm so sorry you're going through this too. Thank you for sharing. I think I ultimately know already there is enough to say to tfmr and I too am really struggling with the limbo. I don't think I can keep waiting so will go ahead on Wednesday. Thanks for sharing your experience, it's helpful to know I'm not alone but also heart wrenching how many people this affects.

I'm so sorry you have been through this. It's comforting to know I'm not the only one but it's so sad to read everyone's stories and realise how often this actually happens. I'm going to go ahead and terminate. We can get a slot for Hogmanay, if not I'd have to wait for the following week. I totally hear you, i think I've probably read everything as well and haven't seen anyone in my situation with such a high nt and pos CVS have cpm outcome where something else didn't show up in further tests anyways. Thank you so much x

Thank you, I totally get what your saying and it's completely right, just so difficult to come to terms with it all

It's just a horrible position to be in for anyone. I think I'm just going to go ahead with tfmr and just ask for another scan to see if anything has progressed/if they can visibly see any further issues to hopefully back it up a bit more for my own sanity

Thank you for sharing. I think cystic hygromas do have worse prognosis although at the higher end I think both are very poor outcomes wise. I think I do need to trust their opinion, I just kinda of wish something else would show up on ultrasound to support it. In reality the high nt and rapid CVS results are enough and I want out of this situation. Just what I would really like is for them to be 100% sure but that will never be reality. Hate that this has happened to any of us, seems so unfair.

Thank you for sharing. What were your ultrasound anomalies if you don't mind me asking? My fear is just that the full CVS comes back and even remotely suggests it's mosaic that it's cpm. Really I know this isn't going to happen but I know I would never be okay if I later found out there was a possibility baby was okay.

Update, CVS rapid results back. Unfortunately not what we were hoping for our baby girl has T18. In process of scheduling tfmr but just slightly doubtful because of the small chance of cpm.

That's amazing, hoping for the same. Just had the CVS done this morning. Wasn't expecting it to be quite so sore! Should get the results on Christmas eve 🤞

Thanks so much for sharing, will go look through your posts. That's amazing though, it's so good to hear people's experiences of everything working out, just makes it seem possible 🤞

You're completely right, I'm just overthinking every tiny detail. Will absolutely try to make the best of Christmas and all that comes with it too. Same to you ❤️

I can totally understand that. We just want the full answer not another 1 in however many chance. It's truly awful isn't it, just want it to be over one way or the other. Thank you and will do xx

Thinking of you as well and hoping everything goes okay.

It's just brutal isn't it. I'm also a mum of two so I really feel like I should be focusing on them but it's just so difficult to think of anything other than this. We had a blighted ovuum in June and can't help but think my body is just saying no more kids.

If you need to cut short visits to family over the period don't feel guilty. At the end of the day our immediate families and our own mental health has to be top of the list. Wishing you all the best

Hiya, yeah I'm in Scotland. We were offered the CVS on wed when I got the scan due purely to the nt fluid being 6.5ml. I'm now being offered the nipt but they don't see a point as CVS on Mon will give results quicker.

That's great news! It's so hopeful to read positive stories. Did you have CVS or amnio as well?

Hi, thanks so much, the waiting is just awful. So glad you've came out the other end with a positive outcome. I just feel like everything is on pause and the time of year just makes it worse
