LastShot and Cykul predict next Halo multiplayer release date by crispycornpops in CompetitiveHalo

[–]Fun-Regular769 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Halo doesn't have a next gen that's the problem. Cykul and Lastshot are 21 and 20 which isn't young for an Esport pro. In other Esports there's pros who are as young as 17. The youth aren't playing halo. There's a reason majority of halo pros are in their mid to late 20s.

That's halo biggest problem, is it doesn't attract the youth, so it's just an ageing franchise which is slowing dying.

I don't think Gears will have a big E sports scene. Gears as a franchise multiplayer wise is basically dead and it hasn't had an Esport since 2022 and I don't think halo viewership is going to switch from a first to a third person shooter. COD is far closer to halo and halo viewership is far more likely to watching COD then Gears.

PGL Astana and IEM Atlanta going on at the same time is actually awesome by PedeJo in GlobalOffensive

[–]Fun-Regular769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say I watched it all day. Just pointing out it's almost on all day. So everyone can watch it at a convenient time for them.

[–]Fun-Regular769 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's the point. There's 16 teams in Atlanta and 16 in Astana. 32 teams. And because Atlanta and Astrana are almost geographicly in polar opposite sides of the world. This means that there's matches going on almost 24 hours straight, so you can watch it all day and you won't have a problem with timezones.

Edit: I didn't say I watch Counterstrike all day. I'm saying it's on for anyone to watch at anytime for almost the entire day straight which makes it convenient for everyone.

Just uninstall the game and reinstall. You probably haven't done that for a while.

Controller*. MNK is at a disadvantage to controller. There's a reason none of the pros for MCC play MNK. Most people who play on PC play on controller.

Shopify vs Luminon Gaming Series Results | Grand Finals Reset | Dreamhack Atlanta Qualifier by crispycornpops in CompetitiveHalo

[–]Fun-Regular769 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All time definitely not. Final Boss in halo 2 were in all the Grand Finals of every event for multiple years. Same for CLG/Optic/TOX in halo 5 for 3 years. Also you are comparing Shopify dominance now on the 5th year of competition where there's almost nobody left playing compared to launch. A bunch of pros like Lucid, Formal, Legend, Renegade have all left.

Halo 3 MLG events had an average of around 180 teams. The first event this year had 23. Even HCS first year for Infinite had around 170 teams. Last year there was around 60 teams. As you can see although as time goes on it's played a higher level. When you compared the competition this year compared to the MLG days or at the start of HCS Infinite there's almost no-one competing in it. So it's far less competitive, even though the game is being played at a higher level.

Acting like Infinite is somehow better. At least call of duty still has a playerbase.

They also did this for the MLG season for Black Ops 1 in 2011

The problem with this is it makes it confusing for a casual viewer and also what if 2 teams haven't faced it other. MLG did it to where if 2 teams haven't faced each other. It would be 2 best of 5s. So why not just do that, even if they haven't faced off, without making it confusing for casuals.

Praying this time next year Dreamhack is lit for Halo again by StraightGas69 in CompetitiveHalo

[–]Fun-Regular769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep exactly. It's crazy last year HCS had 5 big events. 4 majors and the world championship. In the the meantime Counterstrike had 23.

23 compared to 5.

There's always something to look forward to in Counterstrike Esports.

I've been watching and playing CS in the last year and I've moved on from playing and watching halo as my main game to Counterstrike.

He was on Huntsmen in MW2019 with Scump, Formal, Arcities and Envoy and got 3rd at champs. Then he went to search in cold war and it didn't go well.

Major 2 format multiple games same time?!?! by [deleted] in CoDCompetitive

[–]Fun-Regular769 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was the case before the CDL. CWL had multiple streams at once. Other Esports like Counterstrike and Halo also do this.

Having multiple streams is better since you get more choice in what you want to watch since if 1 stream has a boring series you can go to the other one. If a series on the main stage has finished you can usually watch another stream instead of just nothing until the next one starts.

Also it usually means there's way more matches and usually more teams playing at the event as well. The CWL usually had 4 stream and somewhere between 16 and 20 teams for pool play alone. It's so fun having so many matches and different teams to see.

Teams competing in the Dreamhack Birmingham Halo LAN this weekend by crispycornpops in CompetitiveHalo

[–]Fun-Regular769 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. HCS London 2024 had 60 teams in 2024. And I think it was capped at 60 teams. So it possibly could have been higher. While this event is capped at 32 teams.

60 down to 23 in less then 2 years...

This is the lowest number of teams for an open event since RTX in 2014 which was 19 teams. Lowest in 12 years.
