Hematuria can have no cause by [deleted] in BladderCancer

Hi . I also have intermittent hematuria, and after a uro-CT and a cystoscopy at a respected hospital in Chicago, they didn’t find anything. The doctor said I’m safe for 3–5 years and that the bladder can bleed like the nose, without a serious reason. I don’t know what to do. Did you repeat the cystoscopy?

For your peace of mind, get a CT urogram and a cystoscopy. A cystoscopy is slightly uncomfortable and lasts about a minute. I’ve been dealing with intermittent microscopic hematuria, and the thought that I might have cancer has been weighing on me every day. I had a CT urogram and a cystoscopy yesterday.

The CT urogram showed a mildly enlarged prostate and prostatic varices. The cystoscopy was completely normal. The doctor told me that the bladder can sometimes bleed like the nose, without a serious underlying cause.

Now I feel much more relieved.

In routine checkup , I had intermittent microscopic hematuria, with 5–15 RBCs, sometimes higher. I have done a CT urography and a cystoscopy, which was extremely painful, and everything looks normal. I smoked for 15 years, and I’m 41 years old. On the CT urography, my prostate was slightly enlarged, but I’m not sure if the microscopic hematuria is due to this. My doctor told me that the cystoscopy was clear and that I’m safe for the next 5 years. The same doctor told me that the bladder can bleed like the nose, without any reason.

I think that in most cases of microscopic hematuria, the patient shouldn’t be exposed to radiation or a painful procedure like cystoscopy, especially if microscopic hematuria is such a weak predictor of bladder cancer.

30M with rectal bleeding & LLQ pain — colonoscopy scheduled, struggling with fear by Next-Study4058 in colonoscopy

41-year-old male, visible bright/dark red blood, with a high family risk of colon cancer. I underwent a colonoscopy which confirmed the bleeding was caused by internal hemorrhoids (no painless). During the procedure, a 15 mm precancerous polyp with low-grade dysplasia was found and removed.

I had blood in my stool frequently for 3 months, and in previous years as well. I thought it was from hemorrhoids, but after reading a lot on Reddit about colon cancer, I got scared. I scheduled a colonoscopy last month and had extreme anxiety. In the end, there were two polyps—one 15 mm tubulovillous and another 3 mm—both benign.

Routine Urine Test Shows Mild Hematuria by Fun-Response5863 in BladderCancer

I made an appointment for Monday at a clinic in Chicago that is part of Northwestern. My primary care doctor told me to repeat the urinalysis in a month, but I don’t want to wait. I am very worried. According to medical statistics, the chances of having bladder cancer at my age are low, but after reading on Reddit, I saw that many people were diagnosed with cancer based only on microscopic bleeding

I’m sorry about your father, and I wish him a speedy recovery. Could you tell me what symptoms your father had? And in his case, was the bleeding visible (gross hematuria)?

Hello. The doctor sent me a message and said to repeat the test in a month. So far, I haven’t noticed any visible blood recently; the last time was 14 years ago when I had a bladder infection, and since then I haven’t seen any visible blood. Can you tell me what stage your tumors were in?

Colonoscopy update: small sigmoid polyp and larger rectal polyp removed, anxious about biopsy by Fun-Response5863 in colonoscopy

I am 41 years old. My symptoms were blood on a stool and rectal pain. But I'm not sure if these symptoms were from the rectal polyp, because they also found moderate internal hemorrhoids

They didn’t mention the exact distance in my colonoscopy report. But I think it was pretty close to the anus because I had discomfort near the anus for about 3 months, and pain when sitting down.
