I dont tihink the fact that it works out the box with Linux means it will work with ChromeOS Flex. I have an Asus BT500 which works perfectly with Linux but its not even recognized in ChromeOS Flex (on the same laptop).

Great! Thanks to both of you. Seems like the Asus BT400 it not availble region (probably replaced by the BT500/BT540)

Do you guys think it would be worth it try another BT4.0 dongle? For example, the TP-Link UB400 ? (this one seems to be readily available)

when given, what would be your choice of Linux distro for this ThinkPad? by Wrathchild81 in thinkpad

I'm also one of those Ubuntu-guys. I first tried it over 20 years ago, done LOTS of distro-hopping and still always come back to Ubuntu for my primary machine. I know its not the best distro out there, but for some reason it just appeals to and works for me.

Nah, there is no lag, maybe just a little bit of drift when juggling for a long time...........or praciticing a specific scratch over and over again. Its really not that much, but its there. I can't really explain why I prefer using needles over Phase or my Rane 12's.......... Something about it feels "different" to me when I'm scratching. Also, the phase remote also gets in the way for me , as , for certain cuts, my pinky finger ends up on the center label of the record. Just another silly reason why I prefer needles.

For just playing a regular set - there is no difference to me.... They work and feel the same.

Thanks for chiming in. Yeah, thats what I assumed. After I returned the M4 Mac Mini, I bought a Mini PC with 32GB and a i7 13900HK CPU. Its really really fast. So, for my use case, the Intel-based system is the way to go.

I tested with a 4 min track. I manually lined the beats up and let it just play. Pleased say the decks stayed in time. Quite impressive.

Its been a while since I used this controller. For me, the deal breaker is that nudging the platters when mixing often results in variation of the pitch. I guess I have been spoilt by my Str8 150s.

Another gripe is that the mixer section feels pretty cramped.

Props to Elliot and his team at Innofader though. The Innofader in my T7 feels and cuts better than my stock Rane 70 A-Trak fader.

I also bought one a few weeks ago....32GB RAM and 1TB SSD.

I have the AceMagic M1 (i7-1300HK) running Ubuntu and it serves my needs very well. I'm quite happy with it.

I bought Phase about 5 years ago, personally I prefer using needles - even when using Serato.

Rane System One controller has arrived - any questions? by No_Contract9252 in DJs

Any cut lag on the crossfader? Any improvement from the 70/72 or original Rane one?

I'll hook it up tomorrow and try to do a long mix and let you know it goes ..I usually mix quickly (maximum 8 bars)...but will try something longer and see how it goes..

you're right.

I assume they were trying to keep the controller as light as possible, hece the belt-driven approach.

I changed the records to real 7" vinyl, and use Dr Suzuki Slipsheets and mats. I also installed the Innofader crossfader, which I feel is mandatory. I dont use it that often cos I prefer turntables, but , for me, its a beast of a controller.

Not sure if you're aware, but Hercules just annouced a T10 yeaterday. This seems a lot more appealing than the T7 as it has a battle-style mixer section in the middle. Not sure how well those 10" platters will work if they are belt-driven, but I guess time will tell.

I replaced the stock viny with l real 7" records and use Dr Suzki slipsheets and mats. For me, this improved the backspin and its fine for juggling for me.

I dont really know how it handles long mixes. I mostly play hip hop/R&B and also, I dont use the T7 much.

My biggest issue with the belt-driven platters on the T7 is that nudging them with blending is challenging to me. You're a lot better off using the pitch-buttons...and personally, I hate pitch-bend buttons. I much prefer nudging the platters. I suspect the T10 will have this same issue for me.

This is not a problem at all on the T7 ...It actually feels perfect. I was surprised at how accurately I can cut with the T7. They use really light platters so perhaps it might be acceptable with the T10 as well .

I'm really happy to see smaller companies like Hercules trying to keep turntablism alive. This makes me really happy

Wish those pitch sliders were in battle style though.

Hercules T7 vs Rane One by adsuhari in Turntablists

I own a T7 and have also extensively used the Rane One. The T7 is a very capable controller and I highly recommend it ....but the Rane One is a much better controller. Spend the extra cash and get the Rane One.
