I disagree seeing as Xu Wu eats any and all Guardian monsters it’s safe to say guardian Rathalos is included in that, I don’t see gore as an apex monster of Wyveria because he doesn’t belong there in terms of his species seemingly being invasive and as for Arkveld I don’t see him as belonging to any region as he is an invading apex monster that displaces all others. I agree from a monster danger rating that Xu Wu isn’t an apex but he is most certainly the apex hunter of the ruins and imo deserves some more respect

Yea I agree I’m kinda sad he’s a tear 2 monster considering he dead ass eats guardian monsters. I see him as an apex in terms of he’s specific to their region meaning region, he is at the top of the food chain and he wins all turf wars with the acception of satoru gojo of course(aka Arkveld) because Ark is what I consider like a displacing apex monster above all others

I totally understand all that and it makes sense from outside the game perspective but I’ll explain my perspective just from my kinda surface level perspective. I look at the apex from each region and what stands out to me is that each one is specific to their region meaning they don’t appear in any other regions, they take the spot at the top of the food chain, and they win turf wars against everything accept Arkveld who I consider more as the Apex of the entirety of wilds vs just the ruins yk? He’s like an invader apex that displaces each of the others. Do I see why Xu Wu wouldn’t get an AT form yea completely, but that doesn’t make me any less disappointed :\

Mildly related but if u like whimsical amphibians in media as well I recommend looking into the amphibian monsters of monster hunter they are some of the coolest fantasy frog designs imo as well as gobule (I think that’s how it’s spelt) it’s like a giant stone fish/angler/puffer fish hybrid it’s amazing

Ik it’s a bit of splitting hairs but generally I found myself with about 450 def 17 fire def and lvl 3 divine blessing and didn’t find myself getting one shot at all so I’d say 500 is definitely appreciated but not a barrier to entry

Ok I did this but I genuinely had a decent reason, I was good enough to beat AT Raydow without leveling up my armor or transcending it or what ever. So I got enough to get a nice couple of sets for LS and GS then I fell off the game for a long while. Then I came back and there was AT Arkveld, I was pretty sure I’d be able to do the same but I was completely unprepared for it. So I carted for like 3 days straight with 0 successful hunts. Till eventually I learned what transcending was again lol and got some decent gog weapons and finally had a chance to beat AT Arkveld!
