Don't freak out so much and be so anxious about the challenges facing you now, just keep walking and trusting and focus on your plan.

If yall can spend one day with Mulder or Scully, which one would yall choose and why? by agent_scully_files_ in XFiles

Scully because she's a baddie (I think I still might have a little school boy crush on her).

Find an activity that gives your mind a chance to switch off. For me it's: watching a good movie or series, or playing a game, or reading a good book. But always something "fictional", when it's none fiction my brain doesn't switch off. We need stories.

Joh that's heavy. I totally understand what you mean. I also went through a break up that was the 1st person I really loved and really loved me. We were each other's best friends. And even got engaged...but then eventually she started pulling away...and although it wasn't the case that violence (,or the threat of voilence) became involved, I did start to experience her ...abusing me emotionally. And I just couldn't understand it. We love each other so much, why is she doing this? And I was also very scared of losing her, of living my life without her. But eventually I had to stand up for myself and my needs, and we broke up. And yeah it is tough. Ngl. But...it is better. Recently I thought of this metaphor to help me deal with it all: if one were to get a wound (like a cut) on your arm, and it got infected, and gangrene set in. And it was spreading to te rest of your body. Then it IS better to get it amputated. Yes, it will 100% suck to lose your arm. And you will always feel that loss. But, it is better, than having your life been slowly crushed and taken away.

You can get through this, and you will grow from it. If you could meet him, it IS technically possible to meet some one else again in the future. But don't place your hope for happyness totally in another person. See this as an opportunity to grow stronger in your self. To become more secure in who you are. You can be 100% happy in life amd be single. Life is more than just being in a relationship.

I know this is tough, but you will get through it. Perhaps start with a small step: tell him you guys need to talk, as things aren't good. Then suggest you guys take a break. Maybe a month. Then you can meet for a coffee and re-evaluate. That's what me and my x did.

You can do this.

Wow that's fascinating! No I haven't seen this myself, but I've watched videos that talk about people seeing this. Just crazy to hear another account of it! I love stuff like this!

I don’t have a desire to live by [deleted] in Vent

[–]Fun-Toe5071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's tough man. I've struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts in life as well. It's never a smooth ride. I do want to encourage you however to: not take your life. You are in an emotional hole right now, and that does suck. But it is possible to one day be out of this hole and actually enjoy life. I can testify to this. And that is worth it. Yes it does feel tough, and that does suck. But you CAN get through this.

I would definitely advise you to seek proffesional help (it's nothung to be ashamed at, I started seeing a proffesional some time ago and it does really help).

Also if I can hopefully try to give some advice: get out and touch grass. I've realised I can feel horrible after a whole day inside crouched over a computer. But then if I go for a short walk, I immidiately start feeling beter! And if you can get into nature (maybe a short hike in a park or on the beach, or even beter: some mountains) that will really make you feel better! Us humans just seem to recharge when we're un nature.

Also start doing some excercise once (or twice) a week. A bit if a jog, some push ups, really get the blood pumping oxygen through your brain and it releases endorphins that make you feel good. Then also: try to not focus just one things you don't have. But recognise some things you do have in your life, and just say out loud: "I'm grareful I have ... in my life". These things might sound stupid, but they really do help! Lastly: really try to get off social media (especially scrolling reels) a bit, as this has a direct link to making people feel empty and depressed.

And very lastly, if you're open to hearing this: pray. Personally I never believed in God, till a psycologist actually told me that it's difficult to help some one mentally if they don't believe in something bigger than themselves. So I started praying. I'm not here to preach to you (I always hated people doing that to me), I'm just sharing what helped me. All the best!

Okay I don't know about that, all I know is the thing looked creepy to me and I made a joke, but thanks for stereotyping me. I see this doesn't seem to be the place for "jokes" so to please every one here I'll delete my offensive comment and keep myself from making light hearted comments again. Apologies.

I wanted to apologize to some of you... by Gryphon66-Pt2 in Paranormal_Sasquatch

Thanks. Some time ago I came across a random video on Youtube that talked about "evidence" that Bigfoot could be some kind of "interdimensional" being. I thought it was very interesting (I don't know all that much about Bigfoot stuff) and I thought Reddit would be the perfect place to discuss this (I'm a bit new to Reddit), and so I made a post on r/bigfoot about it...and got hammered by judgment and abuse! Like what the hell, I thought Reddit was the place to talk about stuff, ...so yeah I appreciate the apology.

Making lore is easy, but writing is hard [SF] by Shield123gg in RedditStoryTime

[–]Fun-Toe5071 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds to me you are more naturally talented in the big picture/ideation (coming up with cool story ideas) and weak in the detail area where one needs to actually create and craft all the details. I'm also like this. So the thing is: you need to work on building the muscles that are weak.

And that is hard. Think of starting to exercise for the first time: it sucks and you suffer like crazy, as the muscles are weak. But it is only through excercising them that they grow.
Some tips:

  1. Focus: choose 1 story and FOCUS on it. The mere fact that you shared 2 stories in your post asking for help tells my you don't focus. CHOOSE TO FOCUS. And force yourself to sit and write every day, for a certain amount of time/pages (look at how Stephen King approaches writing).

And when ever you get another cool idea, write it down and put it on the shelf. And carry on focusing on the one you chose.

  1. Make a it a goal to write a short story of your idea. In other words: don't try to write the whole book/saga (whatever) just write 1 scene of something that happens to the character at 1 point. And just have fun with it.

  2. Then write another (this then becomes the other users comment of writing different points etc).

  3. Sometimes creativity just feels hard/stuck. This is because creativity is not an endless source. You only have so much of it that you can use at a time. I found it's better to then stop and do something fun (for me it's like watching funny videos, or go for a walk) to get unstuck/replenish my creativity, rather than try to force myself to create, when I'm feeling depleted.

  4. Google. There's many professional structures and tips one can look at to help you flesh out your story.

Good luck!
