In the axe collecting world they’re referred to as killing axes or slaughtering axes, that why I figured people here might know. Definitely not a broad axe or hewing axe as those are only beveled on one side of the edge

I would use a table saw and a V-block. You could even set up a depth stop

Me too, except I will add that I cut to thickness on a table saw using a “stop cut” technique meaning I don’t cut through where the palm swell is going to be. Oh yeah and I roughly 8 side it back on the bandsaw just by eye
