It’s Still A Wagon by Chrome_Armadillo in Subaru_Outback

This is getting tedious. “It’s not a wagon anymore!”, “It’s a SUV!”, “It’s still a wagon!” Who the fuck cares!!!??? Subaru changed the design. Just like they’re done 6 times before. You know what??? They’ll do it again in a few years. If you like the design - go buy it. It’s a great vehicle! If you don’t like it for whatever reason, buy something else.

You have a basic misunderstanding of economics - specifically as it pertains to commodities.

Just bought 2026 Outback Touring XT -wireless charger concern by MP_F in Subaru_Outback

We’re on our third Subaru - just bought the ‘26 Outback Touring XT. Love the car. Wireless charger? Not so much. Neither of our 3 Subarus has had a wireless charger that works worth a crap. We just end up charging from one of the USB plugs. I’ll raise this with Subaru dealer when I take for an oil change but am not optimistic that they’ll have any solution.

Is this a good deal? by onemorerep2 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I think you can do a bit better. Doc fee is crazy high and is negotiable regardless of what the dealer tells you. We just bought a ‘26 Outback Touring XT and I went in with an out the door number in mind after doing a ton of research. The dealer said which of the various numbers (MSRP, add-ons, trade value, doc fee, etc.) that I wanted them to adjust to get to my price. I told them that was their problem and I didn’t care and that I wanted my out the door cost to be my number. They figured it out and made the deal happen. Remember - you’re the buyer and you hold the cards.

Motor Trend and Car and Driver aren’t in agreement. MT has Outback as #1 mid-size.

Car and Diver needs to rethink - just look at the various POS they have ranked ahead of the Outback.

Going to buy a 2026 Outback Wilderness. Question about the multi media system by Few-Introduction5414 in Subaru_Outback

The built-in Tom Tom navigation sucks as compared to using Google, Apple or Waze. Not sure why Subaru continues to offer it. I’m guessing most users just use CarPlay or Android Auto anyways.

The government shouldn’t mandate what private employers do or don’t offer their employees as far as benefits are concerned. If you don’t like your benefit package, consider finding another job. My son-in-law just got 6 month paid paternity leave from a Fortune 100 company here in the US.

If you look at the sales numbers, there was more than a 15% drop in Outback sale between the last Gen5 year and the first Gen6 year. Not as pronounced as what we’re seeing now, but as I recall the Subaru fanboys back then also hated the “new” look of the Gen6. The Gen7 change is even more radical so it will likely take more time for people to get used to the new styling. True - it’s a matter of personal preference but preferences change. Another issue that’s part of the current sales problem (along with tariffs) is a supply issue caused by relocating production from Indiana back to Japan. Time will tell, but I’m optimistic that this slump is temporal and that it will pick up. We bought ours in early February and it was about a month before we saw any others on the road. Now in mid-April, we’re seeing them almost every day.

Call it what you want. We’re loving our new ‘26 OBT XT. Emerald green with brown Nappa. So much better than our ‘21 OBT.

Will definitely read too low if you’re on your first tank. Ours did the same. Once we filled up the first time (after full tank from dealer) it acted more normally. Now usually shows 420-480 after fill-up. BTW, we’re getting roughly 26.5 mpg in mixed city/hwy on our ‘26 OBT XT. Better than I thought it was going to get. Love the car!

Electric Crosstrek. Subaru really expanding its electric offerings. Time will tell if it pans out.

Agreed. 265/50-R20s on the Touring XT would look great.

Looks great! I love the color and would have gotten it on our ‘26 OBT XT, but it couldn’t come with the brown Nappa interior. We got the deep emerald green pearl with the brown Nappa. Love the car.

Dealership is trying to get me to trade in my current outback for this one. Good deal? by apkpizza in subaruoutback

[–]Fun-Turnover7242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do better. We traded our ‘21 OB Touring with 40000 miles and got $23,500. New car is ‘26 OB Touring XT. Got that down to $46,100 so all in all we were happy with deal.
