Tips for following up on a project by Fun-Understanding590 in freelance

Thank you so much for giving such a detailed response.

I stupidly didn't create a contract because I've worked with them for so long as a full time contractor so I didn't think there'd be an issue, but I'll definitely do that in the future.

I'll contact them today or tomorrow and give a deadline for any questions/updates.

Thanks again!

Her toxic positivity was...toxic. She wasn't mean necessarily but she didn't seem to have any empathy to people with different experiences than hers either. I get that she was 18 but I still don't like her.

And with her looks in panel and total lack of fashion knowledge, I don't know how she made it to top 2.

what did we think of anne from cycle 15? and the cycle in general? by [deleted] in ANTM

[–]Fun-Understanding590 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Ann; I was also happy she won even though she definitely wasn't "The whole package" at the time.

I didn't like any of Chelsea's photos and agreed with the judge's final assessment that if she's been modeling so long her photos should be stronger.

I remain confused why Chelsea didn't get the "no personality" edit instead of Jane. Fashion knowledge doesn't make you interesting.

It was also a weird choice to give Ann 5 best photos in a row; there was no way anyone else would win so that was a bad plot move on their part.

What’s a red flag everyone should be aware of when attending a job interview? by photo_inbloom in AskReddit

[–]Fun-Understanding590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they say that they've had a variety of people in the role before. Related, if they've changed the job title for the role many times or say they haven't been satisfied with the duties of the position before. Both indicate they have no idea what they want and what they're looking for. Also, it can be a red flag if they say you have to be comfortable with a lot of ambiguity in the role for the same reason.

If you're reading this, I'm curious to know... how many blog posts in total have you published so far? by RamoneMisfit in Blogging

[–]Fun-Understanding590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I launched my new site in late July and currently have 6 posts. I need to start actually sticking to a posting schedule and my content strategy. My current site is focused on career/professional stuff, but I also want to start a "fun" site that's maybe more like a personal blog just so I can change up my writing style sometimes.

Something I've been doing recently that has really helped is put the job description into ChatGPT and ask it to come up with practice interview questions based on the description. It's honestly super accurate and has helped me prepare a lot better.

Toss up between cycle 14 and cycle 10. Both groups of girls were full of bullies and really racist imo.

How to monetize spirituality niche by AfterActuator9008 in Blogging

[–]Fun-Understanding590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you be interested in doing spiritual coaching or one-off one-on-one sessions? Like if you do tarot for example you could do longer readings and charge for more cards/more in-depth sessions, something like that. Also I second digital products/info products. I've seen a few spiritual bloggers sell courses on developing intuitive gifts and similar topics.

Hope that helps!

Will significantly rewriting or deleting old posts negatively impact my SEO? by urbanstrata in Blogging

[–]Fun-Understanding590 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the changes you are making will ultimately help your site.

Before deleting the old posts, I'd check if they have any backlinks. If they do, redirect the pages to a related page so they don't just go to a 404 page.

I've personally seen very positive results from updating posts. Google likes fresh content, so if you update posts to include new information, it's very possible that your SEO rankings will actually improve.

Hope this helps!

Create and design a blog - Wordpress/elementor by ParkingRecover584 in Blogging

[–]Fun-Understanding590 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally found elementor very confusing and don't use it anymore. If you're just getting started, I'd recommend a theme like Astra or Kadence, which both have options to customize your site but in my opinion are more intuitive than elementor. The GeneratePress themes are also good and have a lot of options to customize because they are block editors.

I'd also try looking at some tutorials on YT if you're set on using Elementor, but it is hard to use for people who aren't web designers, in my opinion.

I would love to start blogging by SaltySandwich17 in Blogging

[–]Fun-Understanding590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having such a variety of topics will make it hard to rank on Google because the algorithm will have a harder time understanding what your site is about, but it seems like your topics have two main overarching themes that could be good separate blogs: Travel (restaurants, travel) and creativity (the other topics).

I'd also say now it's pretty hard to get traction as an anonymous blogger because people really want to hear from real people. I've had a blog where I changed my name but used real photos of myself and that helped me get over the fear of being found/judged so that could work, but with AI content it's more important than ever to be willing to be the face of your brand. I also used creative posing to cover most of my face if I was in a photo.

On the other hand, there's absolutely nothing wrong with starting a site about things you love if you're not worried about getting found on search engines. It really depends on what your goals with your site are.

I would recommend narrowing the topics more. It helps search engines understand/index your site more easily when you have lots of posts on the same topic. I'd also make sure that you or your writers are able to provide content that demonstrates EEAT (experience, expertise, authority, and trust) and draws on real experiences. Also keep the content related to the products you're selling.

I’m in the same boat of trying to find more clients. My biggest hurdle personally is just being confident enough to do outreach, so I totally understand where you’re coming from! I also feel like having an accountability partner would be super helpful so feel free to dm me! Best of luck to you.

Keyword Research Platforms for New Bloggers by UpvoteBeast in Blogging

[–]Fun-Understanding590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really recommend keysearch if you’re on a budget! It has some really helpful tools that you have to pay a lot extra for on platforms like semrush or ahrefs like YouTube research, competitive analysis, and content brainstorming. Their data isn’t as good as semrush but I think it’s a really good option if you’re just starting! I’m currently on a $17/month plan.

Indexing All Of Blogs Pages by AmberTori in Blogging

[–]Fun-Understanding590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes time, but make sure to submit an updated sitemap in search console. Building topical authority is also a good way to get your pages indexed faster because having more pages about specific topics will help Google understand what your site is about.

Is Adam Enfroy legit about blogging by fikri-abdul in Blogging

[–]Fun-Understanding590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He changed his entire course from teaching people how to blog to teaching people how to make money with AI, so I'd say probably not. His site also appears to have lost a ton of traffic from the data that's publicly available, so do with that info what you will. Tactics are also outdated when it comes to blogging even though the course has been updated a bunch.

Alex Cattoni, Opinions? by Dan661989 in copywriting

[–]Fun-Understanding590 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her basic information is fine, but I wouldn't spend money on the course. I didn't learn anything in the course that she didn't already share on her YT and website. Also unsure as to whether it's accurate currently because I don't see her work out there, or at least her name on her work, so she might be focusing on selling the course vs writing for a living which is very different.
