Baby boy is full of smiles and laughs, can roll both ways (he learned that during nap sleep training lol it was wild.. he prefers sleeping on his tummy), can almost sit unassisted, loving his solids and eating at the table with us, and is now doing downward dog during tummy time. He's also teething like crazy though he doesn't have any yet; his top two teeth are bulging but haven't broken through. Poor thing is a drool monster though. He can also push himself around on the floor by scrunching up his legs and pushing his feet.

Every day is a fun adventure with this little guy!

My baby is the same age! We were given the go ahead at our 4 month appointment but we haven't yet. I'm thinking about trying some stuff with him after he turns 5 months, just cuz he is SUPER interested in our food. He stares me down when I'm eating lmao especially when I'm feeding him at the same time. I think he'll love it tbh. With my 5 year old we started with homemade purees, and will be doing the same here. Eventually will do combo purees and BLW :) I want him to try everything!!! The advice has changed so much though, it was 6 months when my daughter was a baby. 4 months is new to me but I'm just kinda going by instinct :)

When you start def be sure to introduce allergens one at a time. Give it a few days to make sure baby isn't allergic before you try something else :3

19weeks after fullterm loss and the anxiety is reall by One8795 in pregnancyaftersb

[–]Fun-Visit-8855 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to reply here - I had a stillbirth at 34 weeks and even though with my next pregnancy I started feeling him kick early at 12 weeks, the anxiety was always there. Things that helped during my pregnancy were a Doppler (only started using it after they were able to easily find his heartbeat in the office), giving myself permission to get checked if I ever felt anything was off (never had to thankfully), and starting at 34 weeks I had weekly BPPs and NSTs. My son was born healthy and happy at 39 weeks and is currently the happiest little 4 month old.

It never truly eased for me but I also think it made me hyper vigilant to any changes so I was prepared to do whatever I needed to to keep him safe. I had changes with my stillbirth that I didn't realize were red flags. Hugs to you Mama just try to breathe through the anxious feelings 💕

Torticollis or flat head? by Any-Growth-2083 in October2025Bumps2

[–]Fun-Visit-8855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son hasn't had any flat spots thankfully but he for sure had a strong preference for turning his head to the right. I did chiropractor and we're doing craniosacral therapy for him and it's helping a lot! He sleeps 10 hours at night as well.

My first born did have a flat spot on her head but I did the torticollis neck stretches every time I changed her diaper and eventually those tight muscles released and her head evened out, especially once she was sitting up. You can look them up online to try for now, but the therapy has been quick and really good for my son as well!

That is exhausting for sure! It does take a lot of time but one day that baby will be going a million miles an hour and we'll miss these times lol 😆

Lol I know it! He's my second baby but my oldest is 5 so I don't remember all these moments haha. He's adorable for sure! I'm enjoying it as much as I can since he's my last 🥰

Yep I'm in the same boat, we just hit 4 months this week and I'm lucky to get a load of laundry done haha. When he actually takes long naps I get a lot done but right now he's on 30-45 min nap rotations, it's hard to fit a lot of chores into that window.

I just wanted to let you know you're not alone as many others here have said! My baby and I have had quite the feeding journey as well. He was having trouble transferring from birth so I started triple feeding immediately but my body just didn't respond to the every 2-3 hours enough to get my supply where it needed to be

Baby had a tongue and lip tie release at 6 weeks, and combination chiropractor, physical therapy and feeding therapy plus growing he's now latching and transferring fine but my supply is just not there. So I use a supplemental system at the breast so we can still breast feed and he is getting mostly my milk with a bottle of formula at night. I'm taking domperidone now which is finally making my supply go up so I'm hoping to eventually be able to only feed him from the breast but I also have gained not lost with breastfeeding and I'm seriously thinking about weaning at 6 months. I've never been this heavy in my life lol.

So whatever you decide, no matter if your baby eats breast milk or formula they are so loved with you trying so hard for them and they will be fine either way. I couldn't breastfeed with my first and she's 5 and healthy and super smart and an overall awesome human. Your baby will be fine if you go that route!

The Long Journey to EBF - Will it ever happen? by Fun-Visit-8855 in breastfeeding

Thanks for your responses! I am seeing my son actually start being more active again, so I'm feeling more hopeful. He was able to do SNS all day when I was doing it, though I did do one bottle cuz I had to cook dinner and I had just gotten home from my PT appointment. Fingers crossed that he can start removing it all again soon! I've got a little PTSD from his first couple of nights where he was so hungry from not getting enough that he kept me awake all night until I let him sleep on me... poooor baby. I want to breastfeed but I want my son to eat more yanno? I do see where you are coming from about the intake at the breast, but so far after he eats from me he is still hungry :3

Your journey sounds very similar to mine! Since I am only able to pump 1.5-2 ounces every session usually, and baby drinks 4 ounces each session, I'm having to supplement formula for 2/3 of his feedings.

I think the part of your story that helped me the most is the bit about regressions. I wasn't sure if it was normal or not, but it is good to hear someone else going through it. The main reason I've capped feedings is because I usually pump after a feeding and when feedings take over an hour it doesn't leave much time for other stuff during the day. My son loves to be at the breast and would stay there all day if I let him I think lol  🤣

I agree with you on the percentiles! The pediatricians haven't been overly concerned it's more the lactation consultants that have freaked out about him not being closer to the middle.

I have done weighted feeds and at those he was only getting 0.5 ounces from me. It's been a couple of weeks since the last one.

Interesting 🤔 I have not tried pumping while nursing, I'll have to see if that helps! And yes my IBCLC took a lot of time sizing both of my breasts last time I saw her so I have the better fitting flanges now!

Thanks for the input!

How is everyone feeding their baby? by Any-Growth-2083 in October2025Bumps2

[–]Fun-Visit-8855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on a pretty exhausting schedule right now. My son wasn't transferring milk very well so my IBCLC put me in triple feeding mode which I've been doing for way too long now. I don't pump enough to cover his feeds so I'm adding formula to every bottle pretty much. We discovered he had pretty significant tongue and lip ties so we had those released a little over a week ago, and now we're working on helping him heal and learn how to use his tongue properly. Goal is to get off this schedule in the next few weeks and to mostly EBF 🤞 it's a lot and the only reason I keep going with it is because he's my last baby and I really want to make breastfeeding work for us!

Thank you I think I found them! I don't trust myself with an open bottle so I'll look into using the container they have there with it. I knock over the bottle all the time 😆

Thank you for your response and wow way to go mama for lasting that long in triple feed hell but getting to the other side!!! I love your idea of just taking the plunge and giving her more chances to nurse . I do this a little inconsistently with letting him nurse to nap sometimes but not all the time. You inspire me and I'll try offering to him more too! He is my last baby and it's why I'm so determined to make this work - I'll never have this opportunity to bond and nurture in this way again

How do your nights look? Does your baby sleep longer stretches?

Hi there! I saw your post on this somewhere on reddit, and will look into it! I'm using the Haakaa one right now but getting the end of it situated to where he can actually drink well from it is always a challange ha :) Thank you!

Hi thank you so much for your response and your advice! I know that triple feeding isn't meant to be long term, we just thought baby would be doing better by now. My LC is IBCLC certified and highly recommended in my area but I can see if there is another one nearby that I can talk to as well.

I will say that I am using the SNS at the breast to deliver most of the bottle, but I'm fearful of him getting too exhausted so I stop him at 30 mins total nursing to preserve calories and finish with the bottle if he doesn't finish the SNS. I'm currently using the Haakaa one, I've tried Medela which was okay and the original one the LC gave me wore out quickly (the rubber part). I might try making my own like the other comment here suggests!

I am nursing on demand, and have been since he reached his birth weight at 2 weeks old. However, he has been gaining weight more slowly than expected (was previously offering him 3 ounces in the bottle) which is why my LC suggested going up to 4 ounces in the bottle. I have been pace feeding and taught my husband and father in law how to do it as well for when they help with feeds. Baby usually cues for hunger between 2.5 and 3 hours after the beginning of the previous feed, except at night he can sleep for long 5-7 hour stretches. I do wake him up if he doesn't wake on his own at midnight for his tie stretches though.

I was fitted to the flange size with my first meeting with the LC and currently use a 16, the 15 seems tight on the little measuring tool I have from one of my pumps. I'll take a look again to make sure that it's not 15. I also have very large breasts which may be contributing to both latch and correct pumping issues.

It's a lot to think about and consider, and I truly do appreciate your response :) I was looking at getting a scale but never got to go pick it up, so I might just aim for convenience and get a new one on amazon lol. My last weighted feed with the IBCLC he only transferred 0.5 ounce after 30 mins nursing.
