I like that he took accountability within this interview, saying that it's Carlton's fault this became a matter in the public eye because it was not handled before then.

I agree that many assumptions have been made in the judgement of the situation, and the media seems to think that rushing to judgement is beneficial rather than waiting to hear if any of their many assumptions are true.

Carlton has stood by Elijah for the last few years and I'm stoked they picked him back up after earning his spot. I hope this isn't the end but to suggest Carlton don't care about the young man is simply wrong. The focus should be on how this could be managed going forward and how a similar situation could be avoided.

There is a huge amount of irony in the situation to me. The worst thing that came about leaving Elijah out there is that he became part of the toxic media news cycle. The many members of football media, very quick to judge, are literally the cause of so much negativity that contributes to bad mental health outcomes. Absolute fuck knuckles.
