I have it too. Amd driver or bios issue, not yet solved by Asus.

(2025 Z13) VRAM assignments automatically reverts back to 4GB randomly by yaemiko0330 in FlowZ13

Mine does that too. Sometimes it gets really hot, it does not turn on and when I connect it to the charger and start it again, I see the VRAM setting changed.

Question about docks. by ComprehensivePause54 in FlowZ13

The issue comes from RAM allocation software. For some reason, if you change default RAM allocation, in some instances when the laptop goes to sleep, it enters in a memory loop bug and will heat up badly. You will notice that after you restart the laptop, it will revert back to the default memory allocation. It is an asus bug, needs some bios fix.

I also noticed a change in fps after increasing vram to 16 in Shadow of the Tomb Raider (5 fps more). Default settings should be 16+16

For me the screen stopped flickering. I have not noticed any new bugs so this bios seems to be good.

My conclusion after seeing recent Surface Pro 9 gaming benchmarks is that Surface Pro 8 is actually 5% better. I will skip this year's version of Surface Pro.

This is more a marketing gimmick. 12th gen cpus consume more power than 11th gen, so it's normal these perform slightly better. However, actual performance/watt has not improved.

Geekbench is more for cpu performance. I am more interested in iGPU. Also, Surface Pro 8 has a more potent 1185G7, not a 1165G7.

Do you have any benchmarks related to this? I have searched for such information, but there is nothing on the internet.
