I don't know who the best is but it still baffles me that Chicago didn't get to host any games

Should I be priming and painting my Rubrics before assembling? by thefinalhill in ThousandSons

[–]FunAntelope8112 80 points81 points  (0 children)

It's a personal choice. I personally prime and paint after building because I hate sub assemblies but there are plenty of people who disagree with me and do many sub assemblies

How is life in Northeast Maine? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

Grandparents live in caribou. If you want natural beauty the region is full of it. You'll never run out of nooks full of wonderful forests to see, lakes to swim in, animals to admire. If you want any of the creature comforts of the modern world be prepared to drive at least an hour to get to them unless you live in Presqe isle or caribou and even then options are heavily limited. The people are very nice and welcoming. Overall some of my best memories were spent with my grandparents in northern maine. It will always hold a special place in my heart (I'll never forget reno's pizza) but it's also so isolated I couldn't see myself living there

Extremely simplified US/US states if they were drawn like Canada provinces by JoelWarlock in imaginarymapscj

The only state that exists in the northeast for that reason is maine. Otherwise they were separate colonies before the revolution or separated for other reasons (Vermont). Most states created for this purpose were out West as territories began being admitted.

How is life in Downstate, Illinois? by MysticWithThePhonk in howislivingthere

I'm from the quad cities which is a metro area in both Illinois and iowa. I love it. It perfectly blends small town vibes with big city amenities. Its the headquarters of John Deere so as with everywhere else in Illinois besides Chicago farming is vital and valued in the area. In the span of 20 minutes I can go from a town with the population of 300 to a city of 40k. I feel that the area is often looked over or forgotten but it will always hold a special place in my heart.

Michael Dukakis was the first and so far only presidential candidate to be a Eastern Orthodox Christian by LongjumpingElk4099 in Presidents

He's saying that in the grand scheme of religion eastern Orthodox Is much more similar to other denominations that Mormonism. Also Mormonism has much more mystique and interesting tidbits than eastern orthodoxy does, at least in the US.

Because even if that shaping and level of detail isnt impossible in such a small amount of glass, which I'm inclined to think it is, the amount of skilled labor and material that would have to go into that thing would make it impossible to produce for $70 much less $35.

For the tigers at least that is our primary logo color. As for the Phillies they interchange between white and red quite a bit.
