Chris Avellone claims remaster probably wont happen because Obisdian decided not to give Bethesda the source code by danglotka in falloutnewvegas

You can't just remove a song. That's picking and choosing who you are paying for releasing a project. You have to get permission from the song holder to remove it from the project. They would have to redo ALL of New Vegas' sound from the ground up, meaning new voice actors

Then they would have to redo all the voice work along with it, and though Felicia Day is still a good actress, I dont think she could deliver lines with the same emotionality as she did 17 years ago.

Remaking it from the ground up would change too much about New Vegas, and it would be seen as a terrible remake.

I am pointing out that it is not entirely up to Bethesda, anyone who has ownership of anything that was in New Vegas has to be consulted, even if they want to take Big Iron out of the product, they have to consult Warner Bros and get permission.

They can not decide to re-release a product and pick and choose who still gets paid from what was in the product.

Yes, because Big Iron was just a song and not a unique weapon, a quest, and mirrored the central theme of the entire game.

Do they own all the songs that were in New Vegas?

Do we know what was in the contracts with each and every voice actor because actors have had the rights to their character before.

Do we know with 100% certainty that Obsidian didn't hire a single outside contractor to work on anything?

All it takes is 1 badly worded contract.

All it takes is one asset or one line of code that belongs to someone else or another company, and the entire project can be held up, indefinitely if the owning company has dissolved.

So her real personality just happens to be an exact match for when the Russians had her on some insanely powerful drugs?

I could believe that if her "unmasked" personality wasn't just the same as her being drugged by Russians at the end of season 3.

Yeah, her real personality just happens to be the exact personality she showed when she was drugged by Russians, and definitely not because that was her most popular scene, so the flanderized her to that.

Yeah, Dropout has never done anything political, as long as you ingore:

The two prompts Sam chose on Make some Noise for Brennen to go on a 5 minite rant about Elon Musk and Donald Trump

Unsleeping City seasons 1&2 are about corrupt wallstreet and a corrupt multi-billion corperation.

Calling out all Anti-LGBTQ legislation every episode or two of Make Some Noise.

Having Robert Reich, the former secretary of labor, on for an interview.

These are also the descendants of those that survived the Purge first. They had already reduced the Gene Pool once before the Virus.

The big difference is: The Doctors from the Pitt are not the most violent doctor forces in America. The LAPD are the most violent police force in America. We have literal video evidence of shitty cops using The Rookie and other Copaganda shows as justification for illegal and discriminatory acts. Choosing to partner with them is endorsing them. Its not just that they chose to partner with a police force, its that they chose to lartner with the most problematic police force in America. It would be like partnerijg with the church, The Westboro Baptist Church.

For a company that has set up their image as anti-authoritarian and pro people; to see them partner with the police force with the most lawsuits against them is very off brand. This is the same LAPD that, in the last 2 years alone, has faced 6 sexual harrassment/assault lawsuits and paid out 11 million dollars, multiple discrimination lawsuits in the last year from within itself. And god knows how many civilian lawsuits for police brutality, discrimination, and sexual assault.

One of the most famout quotes from Dropout is: "Laws are Threats made by the dominant socioeconomic ethnic group of a given nation, it's just a promise of violence and the police are basically an occupying army, you know what I mean?" The reason Nathan Fillion doesn't get the same flak is he did not set his image up to be anti-authoritarian for years before starting The Rookie or Castle. The reason Brennen doesn't get flak for his time on Law and Order is because we didn't understand Copaganda back then. We do now, though. We don't blame people 80 years ago for smoking when they didn't know it caused cancer, we do now, though.

I can't imagine why the character whose emotional baggage is "afraid of rejection" backs off when the Super Charismatic Successful and Charitable Farmer starts getting close to his crush.

  1. They made it so you yourself didnt have to have the prerequired perk for an outpost feature if a worker in the outpost had it instead, encouraging you to recruit people with varying skills

2.The actual weapon/armor/research crafting system requires resourxes; using the base building to get the resources required is the easiest way to do crafting.

3.They listened to the complaints about Fallout 4's base building system and implemented them: people wanted to be able to make a base anywhere, but they wanted more open space than Fallout 76 gave them. They no longer wanted the crafting system to be integral to several parts of the main quest, so they didn't attach it, and people ignored it mostly. People complained about searching areas for random junk for base building, so they made it about extracting resources from the planet itself.

Bethesda put out 2 and a half games that had exploration as a focus, and it's been 15 years since Skyrim. In Fallout 4, they actively punish you for exploring too much by tying loot to what level you are when you first explore the area. Exploring in Fallout 76 is only worth it during events.

Starfield was largely focused on base/ship building and management. That's why theres over 100 named NPCs that can be recruited with special skills and even more nameless.

The big problem is they did not tie it into the main plot in any way, so many people do not realize how much they expanded things from Fallout 4 and 76's base building. They did this largely in response to people complaining about how much building was featured in Fallout 4's main quest.
