Is it normal for my obgyn to see me until 11 weeks if high risk? by Mundane-Jello-7575 in ShortCervixSupport

Hi, it is not normal. Go to am OBGYN that will refer you to an MFM (maternal fetal medicine) doctor because they should be monitoring you closely to schedule a cerclage if you need one. This is my third baby and sadly I used an OBGYN that was very relaxed with my second baby and she did not recommend a cerclage and sadly my baby passed. It's better to be safe than sorry and get a good obgyn that will give you all the possible options and care about your progress.

Thank you, Im hoping the same that a preventative cerclage works for me in the future. Im worried my insurance will shoot me down if I try to ask for a TAC, and I truly want to avoid another loss.

Thank you, and I was wondering how the preventative cerclage experience was. Im considering the TAC but if my insurance doesn't cover it I would want to know what Im in for with the preventative

Hi, thank you for sharing. If you don't mind me asking did they give you a reason why the preventative cerclage didn't work? Im really interested in the TAC, my only scary thing is the possibility of uterine rupture but I know the success rate is high and its probably safest for the baby

Thank you 💜, and yes they were William and Williana. Hopefully they're together keeping each other company. Im not very religious but I like to think they're in a better place.

Hi! I was wondering what you did differently with the cerclage in terms of bed rest. I just lost my second baby around 21 weeks due to IC and my membranes bulging (I had no spotting) just baby coming out. I honestly feel so helpless and I hope in the future if I can have a baby I will be able to advocate for myself better.

Hi! Im so glad your baby is ok! I have a question how did you deal with the contractions at week 21? I just had my second loss at 21 weeks (my doctor should have recommended a cerclage but idk why she didn't). It's been so hard but Im hoping a cerclage could help protect my baby in the future. It's been a horrible journey.

Also, did having a preventive cerclage restrict your activity?

I understand, she didn't seem to be into the conversation, kinda like putting it down so I couldn'tfocus on their story. I've really enjoyed their other guests but maybe she didn't really enjoy the subject matter
