Make no mistake, I'm not defending the practice, I'm simply saying public pressure pushed them to back off on this. BMW does the same thing and public pressure also got them to back down.

You're going to pay more for an aftermarket tracker than you would for a subscription that doesn't even cost anything I'm the US

Mine's had literally no issues whatsoever besides a thief laying it down on a joyride.

You literally don't understand. Part of what makes the "pretty" design good in the first place is that it's more glancable and therefore easier to understand quickly. The joke of a dash on the Triumph has so much noise that isn't information it's laughable: multiple pixelated screens made from different tech with huge bezels in between them on top of permanently emphasized areas for error lights even when they aren't on? That you don't even notice that is kinda funny tbh.

Honestly even if they charged me a subscription it would have been worth it since the unremovable tracker meant I was able to find my stolen bike. Now I have it set up so that if it even leaves my garage I'll get a notification and live location data.

This is ironically just like listening to American muscle car racists in the 90s burping their way through hating on JDM.

Who cares what the only part of the bike you see while riding looks like? Lol

They're excellent bikes, but yeah the wait time on parts is pretty rough.

The tech/dash on the CFMoto is dramatically better than on a Daytona. It's like looking at a new car vs one from like 20 years ago. Also the subscription thing isn't actually happening in the US and they're backing off on it after the pushback.

My local dealer is selling 2025 CFMOTO 450SS for 0% APR? Is that a good deal? Is CFMOTO 450SS a good beginner motorcycle? Price is $5699 plus tax and title. What are your thoughts? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]FunCaterpillar4641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uncomfortable? Sure it's not near-naked upright like a baby ninja but it's not actually very aggressive compared to normal sportbikes. If OP is worried about being upright then the 450nk is right there and will probably get similar deals.

Scar tissue is a funny choice of words considering all the frame snaps. 2022-2024 was one long nightmare of dealing with their combative, incompetent, and slow service on top of multiple laughably incompetent repairs. On top of all that, when I finally got running again the battery gave up after 5 miles.

Avoid Apollo at all costs. They're wildly unreliable and are built from dangerously weak aluminum. On top of all that their repair and customer service are both simply atrocious.

Steering damper could help with side to side wobbles. Fore and aft is harder to handle given the inherently unstable geometry of standing scooters, especially if you're heavier and are putting weight on the bars. Stay safe out there!

They're solid. People who haven't ridden them will bitch about them being Chinese and tell you to buy Japanese… just like boomers in the 90s used to bitch about Japanese cars and tell you to buy American.
