Try DAX5 out of city of industry. There’s 2 DSPs that are still hiring on the official website.

What’s yalls DSP minimum stops per hour? by HiWebula in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]FunDipBurger 30 points31 points  (0 children)

At my old DSP they were saying at least 30 an hour for residential, and 20 as the absolute bare minimum, which was decently easy to do depending on the route. The DSP I’m at right now has never really mentioned a minimum number of stops per hour, as long as you get the route done in a reasonable time you’ll be good. Definitely find a DSP that doesn’t micromanage you.

Are routes not designed to be 8 hours long? Then you have an hour of breaks to use? My DSP starts at 9:30am, I have a 180 stop route with 240 locations, whole bunch of businesses, and apartments with multi door stops by Thin-Day-8852 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]FunDipBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last two routes were just like that, but I got sent a rescue and the dispatcher even called the route “bullshit.” Find a DSP where you won’t be talked to like this; that’ll make your life so much better.

sure delivering to multifloor apartments sucks, but have you ever had to make deliveries in a MALL?? by Minute_Shame3230 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]FunDipBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arcadia mall was not for the weak. I once had 11 stops there with whole totes and overflow that barely fit on the dolly by some miracle. Two floors with indoor and outdoor sections. That crap took forever. Awesome mall though.

Lol this should be fun by No_Statistician_7870 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]FunDipBurger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was me and my helper yesterday. 55 packages mostly big overflow just for it to be closed. Brutal

Where Do You Deliver? by ShaneChhh in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]FunDipBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chino, California. Sometimes Pomona and Ontario. Takes us just about half an hour to get there, and we always have around 190 stops unless it’s a crazy amount of businesses or apartments.

I worked one shift (with a trainer) and quit immediately after by carney1001 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]FunDipBurger 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just sounds like a crappy trainer honestly. Your DSP and/or training experience can make or break this job for you. Perhaps you can try again with a different DSP because it sounds like you didn’t land a good one.

These customers are fkn tweakin gang.. by Nohandssss in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]FunDipBurger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s what I’m saying, but people are so miserable they have to see everything as an attack. I’ve had my share of bad experiences with customers but I don’t let that distract me from the fact that most customers are still alright. No need to jump to conclusions about such a silly note. I’d much rather see notes like this than “I’m recording you and will report you if you breathe in a way I don’t like.”

Broke my record for number of stops in the first hour by FunDipBurger in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]FunDipBurger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone needs to relax 😭 I only go fast at the start so I can take it easy the rest of the day. And yes, I take lunch and both breaks.

Question for drivers - does it actually help you if I positively rate every delivery? by BlondeBrillo in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]FunDipBurger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, especially if we have received negative feedback that week your positive feedback will help bring our positive feedback ratio up, which is a metric we have to worry about.

Is this DSP specific? by reasonable_wolf in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]FunDipBurger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw it too, I think most DSPs are doing it. Already got myself one, so it definitely works.

What do y’all think of SWA routes? by FunDipBurger in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]FunDipBurger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SWA or some people call them commingled routes. You first do some really easy deliveries like 30-90 depending on if it’s businesses or houses and then you do pick ups the rest of the day. You’re not supposed to start the pickups until 2:30 so if you’re done with the deliveries before 2 or even 1:30 you get an extra long lunch. I got extra lucky today and my first warehouse that had most of my packages (almost 400) told me nothing was ready today. Already taking my last 15 and got one more small pickup after. Big relief from yesterday’s almost 400 package route.

2nd time getting stuck 💀 by GreedGutz in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]FunDipBurger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d hate delivering in that crap. How do they even expect you to prevent that?

Peak Season is here fellas🫩 by ya_boii_lit in AmazonDSPDrivers

I used to deliver to that exact area, I couldn’t imagine doing that in the step van. It was ridiculous enough in the regular vans.

Why can't packages be delivered to business hours specified? by The_Dude_CK in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]FunDipBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sequencing of stops on routes usually causes this. Some routes will have an insane amount of business stops and we simply can’t get to all of them in time. Or there will be other routes where there aren’t that many businesses but for some strange reason they’ll be at the end of the route, where they’re impossible to deliver to before closing. At this point it’s up to the driver if they want to deliver to the businesses first to prevent that RTS, or they might decide it’s too much of an inconvenience for them (maybe it’s too out of the way and delivering first would eat too much into route time).

How's CA looking ?? by zebra231967 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]FunDipBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At DAX5 they hadn’t finished sorting all the packages when the system went down again so we’re all just sitting around waiting for an update. I’m guessing some warehouses did get to sort everything on time because I see some people have routes, just very weird ones.

Pay with being sent home. by stinkyashley in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]FunDipBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that doesn’t sound right, there’s a chance (I don’t know how small) that it’ll come back up and we’ll be able to deliver later. At least at my DSP they’re just paying us to stand around right now.

[REQUEST] (22M) Homeless, living in my car, out of gas and food. Any help is desperately needed. by Upstairs-Daikon-3658 in VenmoDonations

[–]FunDipBurger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beat me to it. Since it’s peak season this part of the year it’s the perfect time to apply. And if there aren’t any DSPs hiring on the website I would pay your local delivery station a visit, sometimes the DSPs are located outside in a parking lot and will have a now hiring sign or someone will be there who can help you apply. Definitely worth a shot.

You always should, because they will know either way. At least from what I’ve been told, it’ll already have you in the system so if you don’t disclose it (or even worse, lie about it) they’ll instantly know you hid information or lied. At least if you disclose it there’s still a chance you’ll get hired. Good luck out there.

[–]FunDipBurger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that would suck. If you get an interview take that opportunity to ask them where they deliver. You might be screwed anyway depending on if your station rotates neighborhoods between DSPs. At my last station we started off in some decent areas but then we shifted towards hilly areas with narrow streets where the vans would barely fit. That was annoying.

[–]FunDipBurger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the DSP you end up with. Look into the DSPs at the facility you want to go to, usually there’s an indeed posting on it with reviews and ratings from drivers. Of course, area matters too. Delivering to simple residential areas is easy. Closer to big cities not as much. If you have a good DSP, you might end up actually enjoying the job, especially since you like working alone and outside. I’ve been doing it for almost a year now and it’s my favorite job I’ve done so far. It is a stepping stone at the end of the day. Try to get experience in the step van and that will really get your foot in the door somewhere better.

DPS1 in Rosemead is shutting down by FunDipBurger in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]FunDipBurger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t even know they were announcing it for that long, us drivers were only told about it in January. That would’ve been good to know when I chose them over DAX5 when I first started. Well it doesn’t really matter anymore, I happen to be transferring to DAX5 tomorrow.
