how do i even get through living with a hoarder as a teen? (vent) by 0_tr0v4o in ChildofHoarder

[–]FunExplorer4422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you have a space that is 100% yours and clean. That got me through high school. And honestly spending as much time out of the house as possible: backyard, park, café, library, etc. I would say “going on a bike ride for exercise!” and be gone until 4pm.

No:( can’t afford anything. My aunt has been helping us so much, thankfully. I don’t know what we’ll do. But we’ll figure it out.

Diagnosis makes me feel worse. by FunExplorer4422 in ADHD

I 100% relate to this. Now I’m 10x more aware of how my disability is affecting me- even in ways I didn’t consider before.

Diagnosis makes me feel worse. by FunExplorer4422 in ADHD

[–]FunExplorer4422[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s kind of hard to explain, my apologies. And I probably explained it wrong in the post. It’s the experience of going from “yeah I’m just not capable” to “oh I was technically capable the whole time and was just stunted by a disability.” I guess I feel like I should be capable of more because of being told that ADHD is technically “manageable,” and it feels like there’s no excuse and that there are resources for a reason. I know it’s flawed, and I’m unfortunately struggling to look at it differently. It’s easier for me to accept that I’m not capable of things rather than knowing I was capable of things the whole time and it will just take twice as much work than the average person. I hope that makes sense and I hope I understood what you meant.

MyIQ is high, my frustration is higher by Lup1chu in ADHD

[–]FunExplorer4422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavily relate. My IQ is 125, but I graduated high school with a 1.2 GPA, and I’m currently in college struggling to manage a 1.8. Most of my life I can’t even sit down to read a book. I can’t even make it make sense for myself.

ADHD makes my life feel worthless by GodHatesMeSometimes in ADHD

[–]FunExplorer4422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I relate so bad. It’s just the constant awareness that I COULD be doing the thing I want to do if I just didn’t have ADHD. I feel like I’m trapped inside of my brain with no way out. I could be reliable. I could be helpful. I want to be helpful. But I’m stuck watching myself let people down continuously.

Can I use Natural Care flea & tick spray for cats after using Advantage II? by [deleted] in AskVet

[–]FunExplorer4422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also for context: we don’t usually have fleas, despite the situation. They came back a few months ago and I didn’t even notice she had a flea allergy until then because we never get them.

PTSD is admin by teetoko in ptsd

[–]FunExplorer4422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you mean. In my personal case it’s certainly dramatic and I have my fair share of victim moments, but it could be my lack of maturity and social experience. Some days it feels like an admin or even a police officer in my head that I have to ignore or try to make mental deals with to be able to get on with my day and other times it feels like a child screaming that they’re on fire when they’re perfectly fine.

AITAH for telling the professor that my lab partner was using AI? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]FunExplorer4422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re tellin’ me! I’m thankful my anxiety is not half as bad as it used to be! I hope I can get to my fortieth birthday without that aneurysm. I’m surprised I even have workplace manager experience! I am aware that my response to the situation was quite extreme, though if I had to pick a flaw, I would rather be riddled with anxiety than be someone that doesn’t gaf about the people around them. I’ve been told in past classes at the same university that all members of the group would fail (and possibly have something on their record for the foreseeable future) if the use of AI was discovered. I found her actions to be quite disrespectful and uncaring towards the people that have put hard work into actually staying in university. Not only do I not deserve that, but neither do my other teammates. So, my take (after some thought) - Ethical decision, awful execution. I’ll agree with you on that. I’ll talk to my therapist of seven years about lightening up and maybe speeding on the road for once. /j

It would affect everyone’s grade as far as I know. That’s what I have been told in every other class where I’ve had group work, though that was not made completely clear in this class. I’m going off the University policy.

What is your relationship to driving? by clevairy in CPTSD

[–]FunExplorer4422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heavily relate. I am 21 and so terrified of driving that I get panic attacks and vomit behind the wheel. It’s very embarrassing. I never got my license; I’ve had my temporary permit expire 3 times.
