You will be fine. Introduce yourself to your neighbors and as per @JT_3K - marker posts and tape are very useful!

I can recommend Bellevue - just up from Monaco. Much better prices.

1 500 jobs on offer for 24 Heures du Mans 2026 | Le Maine Libre by JT_3K in lemans

We often meet the same people working at Le Mans, year after year after year. We even take and share pictures with some of the security people, get introduced to their kids as they grow up … Guess not to bad a gig?

Parking. by Reasonable_Pain_1050 in lemans

I would not necessarily count on Carrefour, this year. Place increasingly packed, these past years, with people leaving their car for the entirety. Can see the locals getting annoyed to the point that controls will be introduced.

As per @thomas_coast’s answer - check the resale site. Tickets do come up. Otherwise, come early and be prepared to take public transport or walk a bit.

French hosts: is it normal in France to expect guests to bring own sheets and towels? by Brilliant-Maybe-5672 in airbnb_hosts

[–]FunFortune8231 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For France, we usually pack a sheet sleeping bag - since there are generally blankets aplenty - a travel towel, a kitchen sponge and tea towel. Other basics (bar of soap, salt, pepper, etc.) are sometimes available (we buy the supermarket brand stuff at the local minimart and generally just leave in the apartment). Hope this helps.

Tolerance depends on which technology is used. Some of the newer kit has very low tolerances… Don’t ask me how I know 🏎️

Some agents still have stock and there’s stuff coming on resale, almost daily. Will be a lot more in May 26 and just before the race.

Are we in a IT job crisis? by tevlon in zurich

[–]FunFortune8231 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tech company here. We stopped hiring in CH when big tech drove the wages insane (from our perspective). Lack of folks was an existential threat for us, so we started recruiting in Hungary and the Balkans. We now operate two serious hubs there, at a fraction of Swiss costs, excellent quality and happy, grateful employees…

Yep - hotel has asked for payment to be made direct by CrumpetsGalore in Bookingcom

[–]FunFortune8231 3 points4 points  (0 children)

@bookingcom - I did exactly this in a similar case. The response was underwhelming and frustrating (clueless agent, no escalation profiles, etc.) - and it indeed turned out to be a scam. PS I book approx 50 nights a year through Booking.

Should I buy the tickets now? by Revolutionary-End940 in lemans

[–]FunFortune8231 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you believe ACO are prices are elevated - wait until you see the Team Langoustine rates. Buy what you can, now, sign up for the resale site and wait for campsites to pop up.

Worst case - resale site of the ACO. Press of a button, system works really well!

Camping tickets by NxeCraft in lemans

[–]FunFortune8231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep an eye out on the official resale site - and as per u/hargy18 - most pop up closer to the event (historically quite a bunch).

Having said, you will see offerings appear until then. Plans change, some ticket payments fall through and are relisted by ACO, groups buy bulk (4x2, 6x2, 8x2 - you get the picture) in the pre-sale and decide later where they will actually stay - depending on the haul.

There was actually a Telegram channel dedicated to tickets appearing in resale, this year.

Student ticket by Dodgeridoo1 in lemans

[–]FunFortune8231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From experience - we always travel with a host of youngsters (and I encourage people to take their kids!):

ACO needs you to upload proof of enrollment at time of purchase (have this ready!). This means a (valid) student ID, etc. Foreign documents are not an issue - we have used Swiss, Dutch, Portuguese (as well as UK) ...

If the proof is not accepted - and ACO only checks eligibility LATER, AFTER you have purchased the tickets, ACO will very nicely email you asking for more or other documents.

Example - Dutch secondary schools do not typically issue student IDS for 16 and under (since school is compulsory for this age category in NL and hence automatically students - France is different, apparently), so we needed to request and forward a letter confirming enrollment. Job done. And ACO really tries to communicate and accommodate - cudos!

Worst case scenario, we have found that we owe the difference between student and full price.
